I finished Steve’s Rob Roy on Wednesday and I am winding yarn today to cast on a second Rob Roy. I know…I am wondering what on earth is wrong with me also. However, it is a nice fitting hat and that is my story and I am sticking to it. Also, I kind of figured out a way to knit this blasted thing without following the chart with a gazillion different symbols. Maybe…
Gale has been distracting me with this hat and I confess that I have done some stash diving to see what I might have that would work. Swatching might have begun…
No progress has been made on sleeve two, see above…
Also – can I just say I am so thankful it is Friday? It has been a week of highs and lows and highs and lows – I am ready to get off the roller coaster that was this week. However, can next week be the LONGEST WEEK EVER?? (think the Jericho story from the Bible) I am wondering if I play Louis Armstrong really loud on the Sonos all week I might achieve success. Do you think that my Keen boots would work for marching boots in a pinch?
Meanwhile, back in reality – I am not going to the Woman’s March on Washington DC; however, I am going to the Sister March in Pittsburgh! If you are not going to Washington DC and you want to find a local march – you can find one here
But, really – are you ready for some links yet? I know I am!
- I like this, but I really love the yarn packaging but I am not sure whether I would knit with it or hang it as artwork in my living room…
- Ambah has a MKAL coming…
- If you discovered that you are hopelessly in love with waffle stitch during Project Peace – perhaps this could be your Peace Expansion Project.
- Kirsten has a couple of new patterns (here and here), but TODAY the Sock MKAL is out!! YAY!!!!!
- Origami Top Hat has some interesting construction, or perhaps you would prefer Cyclone Hat…
- And, lastly – Knitting IS Meditation.
That is all I have this week and I wish you a very happy Friday! See you back here on Monday!
I would love next week to last forever! Your hat looks lovely and warm. I don’t blame you for doing another!
OMG!!! Just what I need…more links! (NOT…) but all of those are lovely. I might have already had a little accident with the PayPal this morning.
I can’t believe you are knitting another hat after all the complaining about that pattern. LOL. I love that Farmhouse Cardigan, it’s just my style! And YES on next week.
Surely your second Rob Roy will be much easier! I have crossed off the 20th on my calendar, with the (unrealistic, I know) hopes that it won’t happen. But when it does, I intend to be back knitting my Peace Cowl, maybe planning a Farmhouse Cardigan and perhaps drinking, too. Thanks for all the excellent links to keep me occupied!
I may take up drinking next Friday, which I conveniently have off because my office is within the red zone of closed streets.
Or maybe I’ll just leave the city for the day, since I’ll want to be back Saturday for the march.
I think you’re smart to be knitting another Rob Roy – putting all that learning to use! (and I think it’s going to be great in the light color – those cables will really shine). And Kirsten’s socks – are you going to join? I’m tempted…but have never successfully completed the socks in February (and the last couple I never completed at all!) and finally – thank you for the knitting is meditation link. Great article. and precisely the way I plan to spend next Friday (well, that and alcohol … it’s gonna have to be a mindless knit!)
I’m pretty sure I am going to the Pittsburgh march as well (just found out a friend wants to go, so I’m going to see if I can swing it). I guess I need to knit myself a pussyhat now!
Oh. I’m with you . . . And I don’t blame you for knitting another Rob Roy. It really is a nice hat — just a bit complicated, that’s all. And surely it will seem easier now that you’ve got one under your belt already. I’ll enjoy watching all y’all knit your TTL socks in February — but I won’t be joining in. (I am not a fan of fussy socks. I like ’em plain and simple.) My daughter will be marching along with you in Pittsburgh — wearing her Mom-made pussyhat, of course! XO
The Rob Roy hat is really gorgeous. I can see why you’d want to make another one.
I love hearing that knitting IS meditation. And it is easier and less boring!
sorry your week was highs and lows, I hope this four day week is even and calm and relaxing for you 🙂 lovely finishes!
