Tonight, Steve will be away at a work function. So that means no normal happy hour. Before you get too depressed for me, we had an “emergency happy hour” last night. Priorities, after all!
Speaking of Steve, sometimes he sends me the most hilarious things from work. Today’s gem involved the wonder of getting double monitors…
Really… I cannot make this stuff up.
Enough hilarity from outside sources! Today kicks off my “Home Alone” Day!
On my agenda:
- Finish reading The Mountain in My Shoe – I only have a couple of chapters left!
- Begin and finish The Lake – I have a due date of Monday! Yikes!
- Knit!!! I have begun the crossed stitches in the shawl and I love how it is looking!
A few things, but it feels like a full plate!
Now, how about some links!
- First up, via Swiss-Miss: 6 Delicious Danish Cheeses To Try (oh yeah!!)
- Speaking of cheese, today would be Marie Harel’s 256th Birthday and Google Doodled her!
- Are you in the non-spinner category, but would you like to knit with handspun yarn? My blog friend, Sarah, (who spins BEAUTIFULLY, btw) has opened an Etsy shop to sell her handspun yarn. You’re welcome.
- Darlina… love! And, there is a Space Cadet update today at noon EST, if you want to use Lyra!
- Scarf Dryad
- North of the River
- Spindler Mitts (Less than 150 yds of handspun used! See above if you do not spin… lol)
- Whimsy Bonnet (which is so stinking cute!)
There you have it, Gentle Readers! See you back here on Monday!
You are so sweet to link to my shop — I guess I really do need to get more in there now!
Glad you were able to get in an emergency happy hour yesterday. Those are important!
Good luck with the reading. I started a new book the other night and have only managed about 20 pages thus far, so I’m looking forward to a couple of nights when I can stay up a bit later to read.
I love Home Alone Days! They give me the freedom to read and knit without feeling guilty, and it looks like you could use lots of reading time. I think reading, some of those Danish cheeses along with crackers and a cocktail would be the best. Alas, real life has to be dealt with first, but I hope you get some time for enjoyment.
well priorities are important and I’m glad you pregamed your Friday. I am looking forward to my husband coming home early today after a crazy work week for him. Lots of knitting and reading time too is in my future. Bring on the weekend!!
I’m glad you got a bonus emergency happy hour EARLY!
I wish I had time to read. It is SoHard working all of these days in a row. Ugh…
The links. I LOVE the links! I especially LOVE the Whimsy Bonnet AND I have some leftover Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in the perfect color for Miss Audrey, who will NEED a hat (or three) in Chicago this winter. 🙂
I understand that poor person who is asking for help. When they installed my second monitor it wasn’t set up to work properly and I had no idea how to use it. Oh how I wish I could eat all the cheese I wanted! Life just isn’t fair sometimes. BUT, I do hope to have more time for knitting and reading soon! 😉
Today is my first day home alone in FORever and I’m quite happy about it.
I had the two monitor quandary this week. And alas, they couldn’t get one of them to work right – resolution issues. I said get it out of here!! 🙂 And oh those links! Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your alone time!
I have a packed weekend ahead: a baseball game tonight, followed by Indie Bookstore Day, the Climate Change march, and maybe a museum trip tomorrow and on Sunday, the farmers market, time in the garden, and trips to a street festival and the library. Then, Rudi and I are heading to the beach on Monday. I’m hoping for some knitting time in the car and reading on my towel.
The shawl looks so pretty. I am currently reading The Rosie Project and enjoying it. The novel is a light read and funny although the main characters tug at my heart now and then. Quiet weekend with chilly rainy weather. Good for hot tea, a pot of soup, and knitting!
I hope you had a lovely Home Alone day – mine are few and far between these days and I savor them. Cheers to the weekend and to more time for reading and knitting!
A bonus day! I hope it kicks off a wonderful weekend. 🙂
The glory of the quilt show is now a wonderful memory! Today (Sun), i gather with my friends for a day of stitchin’ – I think I shall pick up a pair of knitting needles for a change of pace…first time in a long time…or I may just sit and color, read a bit…
Enjoy your Sunday.
Cheers~
That little bonnet? Oh! So stinkin’ cute! 🙂
Hope you enjoyed your weekend — and got caught up with All The Things!
