We are back to a “normal weekend” here, and Steve and I are both so happy for Cinco de Mayo! Steve will make a pitcher of margaritas for our happy hour! Now, whether or not they impede the plans we have for Saturday will be the trick!
We have baby robins! Mama even seemed to be proud to show me the nest with the new babies! (I think there is one? maybe two? in that pile of newborn bird-ness) I snapped a quick photo to share!
The latest Windows update has totally messed up all my Office programs. This is causing great havoc in my work life. GREAT HAVOC. So, please Microsoft, fix it ASAP!
Ravelry is 10 years old. Wait, what? Yeah, I know. How is that even possible? But, Happy 10th Anniversary, dear Ravelry. My life would not be nothing without you! (nor would my links!!)
Speaking of links! How about some good ones this week!
- The Summer issue of Pom Pom Magazine is full of good things.
- There seems to be just a plethora of things to make with Mad Tosh Light this week. Really. So much good stuff! Like Annulaire and Holey Comfort. Or how about Bakau? Or maybe Lattice or Braid! And, even though the Spark Sweater calls for Harrisville Designs Fingering (which is a lovely yarn) Mad Tosh Light would absolutely work!
- Finally, there is Fissure which is knit from Rifton… and really, Gale’s photos just make me want to cast this on yesterday!
There you go, some odds and ends on a Cinco de Mayo Friday! See you back here on Monday!
There is never a shortage of interesting things to knit, is there??? Thanks for finding some of the week’s best! Enjoy your pitcher tonight. XO
Happy Margarita Day! and great links – MadMay is underway and lots of designers, including Hilary Smith Callis (Annulaire), Ambah O’Brien, Kirsten Kapur and Isabell Kraemer are offering discounts on patterns. I think I need to take advantage of a few sales!
Cheers to pitchers of margaritas!
I see strawberries! (Side note: Are they hard to grow? I’ve never tried because I always had it in my head that they were very delicate.)
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy those margaritas! Don’t forget tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby, in case you find yourself in need of another excuse for happy hour.
Your strawberries are lovely, and congratulations on your baby robins! The nest is an architectural creation, the eggs are beautiful, but newly-hatched babies are not! Thank goodness they grow fluffy feathers and get cuter as they grow. Happy weekend!
It’s hard to believe Ravelry is 10! Although I don’t use the site as much as I should, I can’t imagine life without it.
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Mmm…strawberries!!!
Baby birds. So cute!!!
HBD Ravelry!!! A decade old already. Who knew???
Mmmmargaritas!!! Yum. I like mine on the rocks. Unless they’re strawberry margaritas, then I like them frozen.
The links. LOVE the links!!!
Love the sneak peek into the Robin’s nest…enjoy all the new patterns and the margaritas.
Cheers~
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Love seeing your robins nest! The last 10 years has flown by. I’ve been on Ravelry from the beginning and always loved it’s convenience and community.
Strawberries look wonderful, we replanted our strawberry bed this year, so waiting for at the moment. It’s wonderful when you have birds nesting in your garden. Lovely links to gorgeous knitting patterns, more to add to my list. You asked about my cleaning rota, I’ve added one to my last blog post, see what you think, will make a more detailed printable version at some point.
