The weekend was kind of a chaotic blur. In the perpetual search for storage in a house with no storage, which is the bane of our existence, we again reorganized/reworked some rooms. It did not end well, and Steve is back at work today, sans that weekend feeling. End result, we fiddled with a few rooms with no real solutions found. Sadly, you cannot create storage space where it does not exist.
On a brighter note, if there had been more knitting time, I might have gotten this little bear done! But, even with the scant amount of time I did spend knitting this week, I got a surprising amount done! Several of you have asked about the Fiddly-ness of the kitting of this little bear. It starts out in a very easy and straightforward manner. The instructions are clear and concise – my one pro-tip, thus far: attach the bear head to the body after you have knit a good bit of the hood. Knitting the hood around the bear head has been the fiddliest part of the process thus far. I will let you know how the arms and legs go, but I am not foreseeing any major issues! I really love how she has configured picking up stitches! It is so insanely easy!
With so much chaos all weekend, it was easy to convince Steve that Sunday supper should include Margarita’s and happy hour food and at least for a few moments we did not care at all that Monday was looming large!
Usually my list for Monday includes several loads of laundry, but today I am passing that task on to Tuesday’s list! I am reclaiming some weekend minutes before Steve gets home from work today.
How was your weekend?
I live on the other end of the storage spectrum. We have an abundance of storage space including walk in closets and a laundry room filled with cupboards. When we were a family of four in this space, it felt manageable. But now that two are gone, the remaining two have filled up very space with stuff. And every time I suggest we declutter, I am met with a quizzical face. We have lots of storage space so why not use it? Someday, someone will wish we had swept a few closets clean when we had the chance!
Dostadning! A little bit every day until it’s all gone…and that may/will take weeks, if not months?! Know exactly how you feel…each time I get a bit frustrated, I think about the $15+ billion storage industry and say: Never! And keep on with just a bit here n there…eventually, you’ll get there…
Love the bear…looking forward to seeing him all stitched up! Enjoy your Monday; we have sunshine and I hope you do, too!
Cheers Friend~
I haven’t looked closely at that bear pattern, but she is a MASTER at the toy knitting and if that bear is anything like the Sleepy Kittens I knit for the kiddos — GENIUS. 😉
We spent half of our weekend without power but luckily it came back late Saturday night and we were able to watch the Oscars on Sunday night.
We have a fair amount of storage, but sometimes I just get into a mood to declutter and throw things out. Actually, I’d bet my husband wishes I got in that mood more because he can’t stand all the stuff!
My weekend was good but busy. We got a lot of stuff done but still had a decent amount of downtime. I wish I could have had one more day to catch up on sleep, though!
I hear you about storage space. We have lived the past 15 years in a one-bedroom apartment with only two closets and a kitchen with no counter space. Painful! (Between books, yarn, bicycles, and skis, it’s a wonder we have any room for us!)
Your bear is adorable. And today I may have had two unexpected margerita’s when invited to go to lunch with our volunteer pals. Mmmmm. I needed them to not care about the impending snow storm.
I happen to think too much storage space just encourages too much storing of stuff (or, at least that’s what happens to me). But I get your plight! Hope you can find a workable solution.
Your fiddly little bear looks so dang cute!
I agree with Kym, but I have so many closets you would be shocked. My goal would be to have half of them empty, but with Smith in residence it will never happen. The bear is so cute!
Little bear looks cute even with safety pins through its eyes 😉
I hope a solution appears in the middle of the night while you are sleeping, that is when inspiration strikes me. Sometimes not matter what there is no solution! We have a big house and I have the room, but I still love to reorganize, declutter and stream line the belongings. I guess I find it fun 🙂
