Today it’s all about things on PBS you don’t want to miss!
Thing One
PBS has partnered with Chef Marcus Samuelsson in No Passport Required. The series follows Chef Samuelsson on his journey to some amazing cities across the US highlighting its unique immigrant culture. It comes at the most perfect time as well, this is the America I love living in⦠rich, diverse, and so delicious! I highly recommend it!
Thing Two
The Great American Read returns September 11 when America’s best-loved novel will be revealed! Have you voted yet? There is still time!
Thing Three
Finally, The Miniaturist debuts in September (at least at my PBS affiliate) and I am so looking forward to it!
There you have my things for this last Thursday in August! Want to see more, then head on over to Carole’s!
Thanks for reminding me about the Marcus Samuelsson show — I really want to watch that! I’m also looking forward to seeing how they adapt The Miniaturist. Have you read the book?
Thanks for three great things, Kat! I didn’t know about No Passport Required and The Miniaturist so I’m really glad to hear about these.
Oooh, I really enjoyed The Miniaturist when I read it and didn’t realize it was going to be a PBS show – cool! I kind of lost track of the Great American Read, it will be interesting to see which book wins. I’m guessing it won’t be one of my top choices, hahaha.
I had just finished reading/listening to Marcus Samuelsson’s memoir, “Yes, Chef,” when No Passport Required debuted and LOVED IT!! I love his perspective and no nonsense demeanor. Also, STYLE FOR DAYS!! š
Looking forward to the Miniaturist too and the Great American Read!
Fall is coming!!!
Thanks, Kat – I hadn’t heard of those shows and they all look great!
Great links – thanks
The Miniaturist should make a good movie and I’ll look for Samuelson’s show, too. I’ve been reading along with PBS and NPR as they’ve picked some great books.
