It has been a very good week for knitting – I have finished my “Shawl of Many Colors” and I simply love it! It was worth every stitch. And, the weather forecast tells me that I will be able to wear it a couple of times this week, so yay!! And, it is substantial – I can wrap it twice around my neck with room to spare!
My next project is one that is involving some very deep stash. I am going to give Tegna another go, and yes, more knitting with mohair silk – this time Colinette Parisienne. I got gauge and have begun the casting on process – 420 stitches are a lot to cast on, but I am being smart and including the markers you add in the first round of knitting. This makes all that counting infinitely easier! The tricky bit will be the lace section and not twisting the cast on…hopefully, I am not jinxing myself even mentioning it – but once that is done it is just round and round stockinette!
The reading is also good this week, I finished Kingdom of the Blind and wow. I won’t give any thing away, but I cried quite a bit. And, the breadcrumbs left for the next novel have me eagerly awaiting the next novel. 5-stars and I highly recommend this series!
I also finished Paul Auster’s New York Trilogy. Another wow! This is a book I will be thinking about for some time to come. I gave it 5-stars and if you loved 4 3 2 1, I think you will enjoy this set of intertwined mysteries.
What about you? Have you started anything new?
As always, if you wrote a post to share – please leave your link below and thank you!
Because rounds and rounds of stockinette are my all-time fantasy knits, I may have to have someone do the cast on…then I’ll take it from there. Oh Gasp, its lovey
WOW Kat! Your finished shawl is absolutely magnificent. Well done! I know you will enjoy wearing it. And yay for Louise Penny books…I only wish she would write a bit faster – lol.
What a great shawl/scarf/wrap, Kat! It’s lovely — and I’m so glad you will be able to use it yet this season (although wishing for spring, but you know what I mean). Having knit Tegna myself . . . I THINK YOU’RE INSANE. (But in a good way.) 🙂
Your Shawl of Many Colors is really beautiful, and I bet it feels wonderful wrapped around your neck. Congratulations on a great FO, and sending you good non-twisting and lace vibes for Tegna!
Your Shawl of Many Colors is just fabulous! It will capture attention and inspire everyone who sees it. I, for one, just LOVE it.
Oh, your wrap is so gorgeous! It was well worth all the time you put in.
Your shawl is just beautiful and I hope your enjoy wearing it!
Your shawl is beautiful! More power to you – I am not sure I could have finished it with all of that mohair.
Wow! Gorgeous shawl!!! I bow to you!
And I feel exactly the same about Kingdom of the Blind–I laughed a little, cried a little, and cannot wait for August (I think that’s when the next one comes out).
I love the shawl of many colors. All those colors just sing together. Gorgeous. I warmed to The Kingdom of the Blind although I can’t say it was my favorite of the series. Best of luck with the new cast on. Stitch markers – all the way.
LOVELY! worth every stitch made, unmade, remade. Enjoy and wear forever! Adding Kingdom of the Blind to my TBR list.
Cheers~
That shawl is stunning. I love the colors you chose and it’s just gorgeous. I bet you will wear it a LOT!
Your shawl looks great and it is so colorful! Glad you can still wear it, we have some more of Winter to go. I am trying to finish knitting a hat that I can still wear it a bit before it gets warmer. That books sounds wonderful, always good finding one that speaks to you.
That wrap is gorgeous! Wear it with pride 🙂
Oh my gosh, your shawl is fantastic!! The colors are all so lovely. Congrats, Kat!
Your shawl is so beautiful! What a quick knitter you are.
I am in awe of your ADVENTurer … and that you’re casting on another silk mohair piece! It’s been a couple of years since I read New York Trilogy but I remember thinking Wow! I just got Maria Shriver’s book on Overdrive … I need to listen faster!! (sorry for all the !!! LOL!)
I saw your finished project on instagram and it was gorgeous!! You are getting so many projects done. Yay! I haven’t got my hands on kingdom yet but I love her writing immensely.
GORGEOUS Kat! What a wonderful piece that you will no doubt ROCK.
