Joining Carole today with a Bridget themed post!
Per Bridget:
“There’s a meme going around on Instagram stories, where you name three things that you hate, but everyone else loves.”
And, I am adding her disclaimer as well:
So here are Three Things Everyone Else Loves and I hate*
*(which is to say ‘dislike strongly’ since I don’t want to be lectured about the word ‘hate’ (either)…..)
Thing One —
Instagram Stories. Honestly, I just don’t get them. Why are they so much better than just a regular Instagram post? Perhaps it is the most telling indication of my age coupled with my complete lack of understanding in how (and why!!) to do them. And, please, no offers to give me an Instagram Story lesson…(because that could be thing four!!)
Thing Two —
Chia Seeds. Seriously, is there anything more disgusting on earth? And, why would you ruin perfectly good yogurt with the addition of these nasty little things?
Thing Three —
Starbucks. Oy, I know! What??? Truly. They have done more for the ruination of coffee than any company I can think of. Truly. But this did make me laugh this morning!
Because Trump has fucked up our country so bad, I think it’s only fair that we enact a law that white women who voted for him are not allowed to drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

That is all I have for today! See you all back here tomorrow!
I don’t entirely get IG stories either, particularly because they disappear after 24 hours unless you save them to your highlights. That said, I do post stuff to them occasionally, but usually it’s stuff that seems kind of interesting but not worthy of a regular post.
One thing I definitely don’t like that everyone else seems to is pumpkin spice lattes (or really pumpkin spice anything that isn’t made from actual pumpkins and actual spices). I tried one once when they were new and thought it was completely artificial tasting and gross.
This is awesome, Kat. I love it. Because I don’t get IG stories either!!!! Why are they there? Isn’t a post good enough? I SO don’t get it the point. And like you–I’m not interested in getting it. No lesson please. So glad it’s not just me. xo
Ha-Ha-Ha – fun post (and I need to go look at Bridget’s). I, too, don’t get Instagram stories…but then I don’t even post on Instagram either. I have used Chia seeds, but they get stuck between my teeth (gross). And, I do like Starbucks (sorry). I stopped on my way to work just this morning. But, that C. Handler post/comment is the best – lol.
I’ll admit, I’m a little clueless (maybe “disinterested” is more accurate) (possibly “disgusted”) about chia seeds. I keep wondering, Are they the same chia seeds that are used for chia pets??
My feelings about Instagram are pretty much “I like pretty pictures and I can express my enjoyment with a like”. To me, stories seem too one-sided and I sometimes find them too long and difficult to interact with. Chia seeds are only for chia pets and I say we pass that PSL legislation immediately!
How could a Bridget-centric post not be good??? hahahaha
I have never understood Instagram stories. And sometimes I find them really annoying they are like a thousand parts. Like Vicki, I wonder if chia seeds are the same ones as chia pet fame.
Starbucks – I have a love/hate relationship with them. A few years ago, someone gave me a Starbucks card as a gift, it had $5.00 on it. It was stolen, and the guy who worked there said to let “headquarters” know. I did, figuring nothing would really happen but about three days later I received a new one in the mail worth $10.00! So yeah, that was nice. But does there need to be one on every single corner of the universe? And now does everything have to be pumpkin-spice flavored??? (The tweet was excellent!)
I watch Instagram stories but I’ve never created one and I’m not sure whether I ever will. I’m tots with you on Starbucks, too. Of course, I live in the Dunkin Donuts capital of the world so there isn’t really a Starbucks near me anyway. But still, we have a local coffee shop that is fabulous and I’d rather support them! (I’ve never had chia seeds)
The closest Starbucks is more than three hours away so I don’t get the appeal. I’m a Dunkin’ fan–or even Tim Horton’s. I’m not a fan of flavored coffee. Yanno, that might make a good Three on Thursday for me! 😀
PS–the audible daily deal is Days Without End. I scooped it up for $3!
Barely noticed the IG stories. I rarely post there.
Don’t care for coffee, so I rarely ever purchase anything from Starbucks. Very occasionally when I’m in Barnes & Noble where they are inside the store.
Chia seeds. I think they ARE the same ones used for ChChChChia Pets. LOL I learned an interesting thing on Tuesday, since I am now on a cardiac diet. Chia seeds can be combined with water to use as an egg substitute. Who knew??? I may (or may NOT) give that a shot. Not being an egg eater, I will probably use egg whites in a carton for any baking I may do.
A big NO on the chia seeds.
Not a fan of Starbucks (much prefer my local coffee joint!), but they’ll do in a pinch.
IG stories are fun if well-done; a waste of my time if not. (And they’re super easy. Just sayin.)
This is a fun meme, Kat! Glad Bridget started things rolling! XO
I am with you on all THREE!! You have a soul sister in thinking.
