Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. – Albert Camus
The weekend had a deliciously summery feel, that is if you just considered the temperatures and not the light – because the light was most decidedly fall! But the days were warm and sunny!
But joy of joys… today begins my favorite season: Fall! Its days are fast, but I am determined to slow the season down by savoring each day – rain or shine!
Yep, Friday I got an urgent message from Steve that there was a significant water break and all the South Hills (or almost all of it) were on a “Boil Water Advisory” for at least 48 hours. Water is a curious thing… open the tap and voila! Water! Easy, right? Except when it isn’t. And, when you can’t drink water it is the only thing you want to drink!
I also went to get some blood work done prior to a doctor visit tomorrow and yes, I am a bit nervous about the results.
Leggings were seamed up, but no sewing was done…so that is on my list for the week! As is that doctor visit and hopefully I can manage a haircut on Friday!
I also did a good bit of reading, but more on that on Wednesday!
And finally, STILL…there is all that never-ending lace! But I am almost ready to join a new ball of yarn and I only have 2 left, so the end is slowly getting closer!
But for now, I need to get going with my walk – rain is threatening! See you back here tomorrow when I join Juliann to share how my focus was for September!
I have my annual exam tomorrow and I am also nervous but I’ll think of you and maybe we can mind meld good vibes. We had lots and lots of rain this weekend but that gave me plenty of knitting time.
I wish the temps felt more fall-like here; it’s quite hot and humid! I’m sending good blood work and dr. visit vibes, along with hopes for progress on the never-ending lace!
Best wishes for an excellent doctor’s visit and good/great lab results. I always get nervous doing that, but things have turned out good for me. Wishing you the same.
A boil water order is a pain in the butt, I hope things are back to normal now. Good wishes headed your way for your doctor’s visit!
I will send good thoughts your way that the doctor visit goes smoothly and the blood tests reveal all good things (it’s always the not knowing that’s the worst, isn’t it?). The warm weather and sunshine over the weekend was lovely, mostly, but I am happier to see more fall-like temps in the forecast for the week ahead. I am ready to break out all my sweaters!
praying your test results are perfect and you have no worries. Bummer about the water and the boiling. We’ve had a few bumps in our well water system that needed a plumber to come out and fix. Mostly electrical, phew!! I got scared when one plumber said ‘maybe your well is dried up’. I’m like ‘nope nope nope’. I hope we are done calling the plumbers!
Ugh on the water. What a pain. I’m sure your doc appointment will go smoothly and you’ll be celebrating with something on the way home!
Doctor visits are always unnerving. I hope your upcoming appointment won’t cause you too much stress. XO And as for the water? Oh, we take our easy-water for granted, don’t we? Hope you’re back to normal by now.
I love the leaves and the quote…we’re not quite there with the reds, yet… presume your medical visit was OK and that you’ve “water, water, cool clear water” again, to drink…
Cheers~
