When Hemlock is the cure for what ails you…

When Hemlock is the cure for what ails you…

After what seemed like a series of knitting failures, it sure is nice to be able to share with you all a knitting success.

I started Jared Flood’s Hemlock Ring Blanket some months ago and after making a series of mistakes knitting in the dark sitting in patients rooms, I had put it away and you know what they say about “out of sight”…

Well, I pulled it back out in May, frogged it and began again.

It now resides in its new home with my friend StevoFC and he loves it.

He took most of these lovely photos so that I could share them with you all.

Thanks for making my Hemlock Ring shine, Steve.

Perhaps you would like some cheese to go with that whine…

The tendency to whining and complaining may be taken as the surest sign symptom of little souls and inferior intellects. ~ Lord Jeffrey

I have noted some trends lately on a few of the blogs I occasionally read regarding an increase in the amount of whining the writers have been doing.

My idea of heaven is a great big baked potato and someone to share it with. ~ Oprah Winfrey

It has been an amazing week here at Casa del KatKnits and while there were not any baked potatoes, much was shared; from the quaintness of Saugatuck to the grandeur of Lake Michigan to my favorite food spots and having my best friend experience them all with me truly did make this week heaven.

Yesterday we headed north to visit Grand Haven and the day was perfect. You can see some of my pictures on Flickr of the sights from the day.

I even managed to squeeze in some baking so I could send some cookies home with Steve.

Spending the day enjoying the sights of West Michigan yesterday with StevoFC and I am happy to say that the weather cooperated from sunrise to sunset. A great breeze at the lake made for some wonderful shots.

It is days like this that I really love living so close to so much amazing beauty and seeing it “fresh” through the eyes of a friend make it even more special.

Below are a handful of my photos of the day, enjoy.
