I have just 18 rows to go on my Cluaranach! Well, 19 if you count my kitchner row…
Thing Three:
I have not gotten a hair cut in 8 months, but all that ends today! Yes, I have an appointment to visit my hairdresser this afternoon! I am beyond excited…silly, I know!
And, there you have the things from my world today! Want to see more? Head on over to Carole’s!
The world is mud-luscious and puddle-wonderful! e.e. cummings
I am desperately trying to see my back yard through the lens of cummings, so today I am sharing three good things about the rain!
Thing One:
After several of moderately warm and rainy days, my forsythia is ready to explode with color and the leaf buds on the lilac bush are ready to burst open. Should this phenomenon happen, expect some brilliant forsythia photos tomorrow! I have my fingers crossed!
Thing Two:
The non-stop rains have helped me focus on my list and in such, I have made excellent headway and the end of the list is near!
Thing Three:
We have a “window” of no rain in the forecast starting Saturday and lasting through Monday! Which is PERFECT because it encompasses both Easter Sunday and Steve’s birthday on Monday! Now, I am not holding my breath because weather forecasting in the Pittsburgh area leaves much to be desired, but I am hopeful!
And, with that I am off to finish those last few things on my list! Want to see more things? Head on over to Carole’s!
Spring Envy: Yesterday’s snowmageddon was an assault to my spring longings. The fact that I had to stitch snow into my spring sampler was painful. However, this mornings trek outside with Sherman had me rethinking “painful” as the poor robins in the photo so aptly showed me what painful really is. They are all puffed up and are perhaps even more pissed off with these dregs of winter than I am!
Thing Two:
Knitting Dissatisfaction: The new knitty is out. I had looked with interest at Arashi, but the directions seem unclear to me and a bit too ambiguous, even for an adventurous knitter. And, the other 12 patterns? Well, nothing there screamed “knit me” at all.
Thing Three:
Risky Driving Drawing: Thank you to the Bridgeville Police Department for this brilliant tweet yesterday. A picture is worth a thousand words… or crashes as the case was yesterday! But, note to the artist… next time make sure the map is of Pittsburgh rather than Washington DC!
These are my things for today, random as they are! Want to see more? Head on over to Carole’s!
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. Anne Frank.
When I read Anne Frank’s Diary my life was forever changed. Her words had a profound impact on my being. It was difficult to realize that people did not all automatically have love and respect for each other. I was even more lucky to visit the Anne Frank Huis in Amsterdam years later where her simple writing is not forgotten and it continues to change the world today.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off. Gloria Steinem.
She was the first woman I recognized as a feminist. She gave that word new meaning and I wanted very much to be a feminist too! She gave a new meaning to the word for me – being a feminist was not a dirty word, but rather a glorious description of what a woman should be.
If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Maya Angelou.
I will never forget watching the inauguration of William Jefferson Clinton, not because it was such an amazing thing, but rather because of Maya Angelou’s poem. It was the first time I was entirely enthralled by the words of a poem read masterfully by its author.
As in just 12 days to the start of March Madness! Really, this is the best time of the year for a sports loving knitter! (If you are interested in filling out a bracket, Selection Sunday is March 11 and you can download your bracket here!)
Thing Two: 18
As in 18 days until the arrival of spring! I know it is just the beginning of March, but we have had some amazing spring-like weather so the return to winter on Friday makes me want to cry. But, maybe that is just the thing I need to reinvigorate my Strokkur knitting. I seem to have lost my mojo for wooly sweater knitting with the warm temperatures!
Thing Three: 31
I am not fooling when I say that Easter will be here in 31 days, nor am I fooling when I tell you that I am wondering if I can get a Bear in a Bunny Suit done before the Lunar Phase MKAL begins!
These are my things for today! Want to see more marvelous things? Head on over to Carole’s where all the cool kids hang out!
