I am still working through the warp from before Christmas, and I have this lovely skein of yarn I spun from ITW. It is 75/25 BFL and Tussah Silk from their December 2014 Luxe Club, colorway ‘Flounce’.
I started weaving late yesterday and I hope to finish the remaining yarn today.
And finish the laundry.
I find pairing the fun with the mundane works well, don’t you?
Last week Monday saw the kick off (or cast on) to the #bangoutasweater knit along with Kay and Anne and Friday afternoon saw me bind off a complete sweater.
Yes, that is right, in 35 hours a sweater was born.
Yesterday, on my journey to Bang Out a Sweater I arrived at Sleeve Island. The seas were rough at the start as I tried to determine what increases worked best with the yarn.
Fortunately, Ysolda came to my rescue with this awesome edition of Technique Thursday.
Smooth sailing continues with practically invisible lifted increases.
Some months ago, we picked up a bottle of Wigle Hopped Whiskey
, I liked it a lot. Steve liked it, but not as much as I did. Well – paired with Quince & Apple’s Rhubarb Hops syrup
it made a wicked Hopped Manhattan. And, Steve liked it just as much as I did! The mild sweetness from the Rhubarb pairs nicely with the slightly bitter hops. If you are a beer lover, this is the Manhattan for you!
Happy Weekend, Gentle Reader, let’s get it started on the right foot!
Makes 2 drinks
2 ounces Crown Royal
2 ounces Sweet Vermouth
Add all ingredients to shaker filled with ice. Stir to combine. Strain into glasses and serve with a cherry.
Clue #3 won’t be here until tomorrow…
And this pile of yarn is singing her siren song LOUDLY…
Since patience was never one of my virtues
Warp winding to start shortly…
Winter finally arrived this week at Casa del KatKnits, with snow and bitterly cold temperatures.
