In the stillness of the morning…

This was the scene that greeted me when I woke this morning.

We are again blanketed in snow and more is on the way.

While it is bitterly cold out, there was something strangely comforting about the hushed stillness of the morning.

Plus, after being outside to snap a few photos – a steaming mug of hot coffee was all the more appreciated when I came in!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

An army of these beauties greeted my morning yesterday as I was heading off to work.

I have completed my first week of work and I really love it. There is a lot to learn, but I feel energized and excited to learn it all!

In case you are wondering what I am doing, I am spending my work hours at my veterinarian’s office… working where I have spent lots of time over the years and I absolutely love it.

On the knitting front, I have cast on a sweater from the latest Knitty and the weather was nice and cooperated with my efforts with a lovely cool down and relief from the recent and prolonged Triple H weather we have been experiencing! I have the body of the sweater done, and have started on the sleeves. I expect to have it done long before I need it to ward of the crisp chill of autumn.

I also have one last hurrah of summer to finish with this little number from Knitty as well. Moreover, this one has the added benefit of no sleeves, so I expect to complete my Emmaline shortly and I will cast on later today!

Have a great Tuesday everyone! Get out there and do something you enjoy doing!!

Spending the day enjoying the sights of West Michigan yesterday with StevoFC and I am happy to say that the weather cooperated from sunrise to sunset. A great breeze at the lake made for some wonderful shots.

It is days like this that I really love living so close to so much amazing beauty and seeing it “fresh” through the eyes of a friend make it even more special.

Below are a handful of my photos of the day, enjoy.

Cat comes on little rainy feet…

Cat comes on little rainy feet…

It has been an interesting week here at Casa del KatKnits, one with teasing glimpses at the sun bookended by gloomy, grey, rainy, and cold days.

Monday was one such gloomy and wet day, but waking at my usual hour I set about to brew some coffee and what to my wondering ears did I hear?

A cat was hanging from my back screen door meowing miserably outside in the chilly, grey, dampness of dawn. Her plaintiff cries were not quite enough to overcome the fact that she was doing a remarkably wonderful job of slicing up my screen.

However, she was persistent and when she was still miserably meowing some 2 hours later and with threatening skies, I took pity on her, put her in the garage, and headed off to Job #1.

Upon arrival home from Job #2 some hours later in the day, the rain was showing no signs of letting up at all. I let the little imp in the house for the night and set out the next morning to pick up a bit of cat food for her.

Today, she has been bathed, had her toenails trimmed and it appears she is staying.

She certainly does not look like she is in a hurry to leave, does she?

Now what do you think I should name her? I am looking for suggestions, Gentle Reader!

Here is some perhaps pertinent information about her to assist you in your challenge:

She is milky white, with some black spots. She has a Siamese-ish face, and she follows me about as if she is a dog.

Therefore, we implore you; please leave us a comment here with your name suggestions…

This was tonight’s sunset…no fooling. Untouched. Just magnificent and glorious.

We broke all kinds of records today… 82 degrees on April 1st was one of them.

Some interesting things coming here at Casa del Kat Knits… stay tuned.
