Today starts the weekend that isn’t.
It is a weekend, but there isn’t much us time. A good friend of Steve’s is getting married tomorrow and Steve is standing up with him.
So, happy hour isn’t happening tonight.
There will be some brief moments of resistance for me on Saturday morning, but the remainder of the day isn’t what I normally do.
Perhaps we can squeeze a weekend into Sunday… we shall have to see. But, reality tells me that isn’t likely.

It was a quiet week on Ravelry but I recently knit a hat pattern by Mary Lou Egan and she released Swales DK in January which I somehow missed. However, she writes a great pattern and I love the simple pattern.

This one is for Mary who loves Lori Versaci patterns (And, Mary… Shibui Linen + Pebble!) Interesting construction as well!

Churchmouse Teas and Yarns has a new Sleeveless Slipover pattern! Oh, man! I love all the options – Dress length, tunic, short… I love them all!

It was a whirlwind weekend for sure, because I cannot believe it is Monday already.
This week is sure to be insane…there are meetings, and a vet appointment for Sherman, and then the weekend is filled with Wedding stuff.
Yeah…the end of March is Roaring like a Lion with activities!
This weekend included some quiet St. Patty’s at home festivities that included Guinness and some really good Reuben Dip. I substituted low-fat swiss cheese, reduced fat cream cheese, and no fat sour cream and I noticed no difference, although – both Steve and I would have liked more sauerkraut in it (so I will double it the next time I make it!)
Saturday included errands, burgers, some March Madness, and laundry…
Sunday’s highlight was the Ready to Resist call with two amazing speakers – Rev. Dr William Barber and Senator Jeff Merkley.
By Sunday night I wondered where the weekend went…
Knitting kind of had the backseat all weekend – but, I hope to correct that today! And, don’t forget ROUND TWO of MDK’s March Madness starts today! Go Vote!!

Happy Friday? Yeah, I am not so sure with all the SNOW that we got last night. Oy vey. The warmth of the week has abruptly ended and it is back to hats, mittens, socks, and sweaters here! I am thankful that the snow blanketed everything to protect it from the bitter cold that is forecast for later this weekend. Fun times, I am telling you!

- Romi’s Mystery Shawl 2017 – I am really tempted to join in with this. I will be tossing my stash this morning to see what I might have that would work! Who’s interested in joining me?

- Linen Noir is perfect for the thoughts of summer dancing in my head!

Overnight snowfall certainly puts the arrival of March in the Lion Category. And, sadly, while we got snowfall – it was not enough to insulate the newly budding and growing things.
Frozen Chives make me sad.
Oh, and add to the mix what I knew would be inevitable with warm/cold/warm/cold weather – Welcome to the House of the Head Cold! Yeah – fun times!
Good thing I have a pile of knitting to keep me company. And, if that were not enough… Mary shared with me this juicy tidbit (which will make all of us Benedict Cumberbatch fans ecstatic!!) I have not read the books, but I got them on my Kindle yesterday.

Sock knitting is always a good thing and there were a couple of nice patterns released this past week:

Happy Monday everyone!
I hope your weekend was good and that you are refreshed and energized to tackle the week!
We had an abrupt return to winter on Saturday and I am a bit concerned for all the things that are now growing in my yard…
- Forsythia are about to bloom
- Tarragon, mint, chives, and thyme are growing like mad
- The lilac bush has oodles of leaf buds on it (however, I do not see any flower buds yet…)
- The Spiraea in the front yard is filled with a beautiful green haze of new leaves
- And, I have a plethora of perennials coming up all over
So, the snow and bitter winds on Sunday were especially unwelcome.
Despite the wild weather – it was a good weekend!
There was another “huddle” with my fellow resister’s which has become something I am really looking forward to. The bit of time in camaraderie with like-minded souls is definitely a boost!
I discovered when I was almost done with the first part of the chart on sock one that I somehow skipped 12 rows. So… riiiiiiiip! I am glad I discovered this before getting much further – AND before beginning sock two. I am back on track with a post it™ to help me with my obvious confusion! However, both socks being done before the final clue comes out on Wednesday is highly unlikely.
We also found some nice looking Romanesco at Whole Paycheck (although they were not insanely expensive) and made my favorite salad, Romanesco alla Diavola, with it to accompany pasta with meatballs for dinner last night. It was so good!
We watched some of the Oscars, but being the lively, stay-up-late crew that we are we did not last until the end. (Actually, it was far from the end, and as such we missed all the uproar over the best picture!!) Now, I am waiting for the same thing to happen with our last general election…
And that brings us to Monday – a hit the ground running morning here. How about you?
