It’s Tuesday and that means Carole wants to know:
10 Things to Do While Listening to an Audiobook
Well, I have been enjoying Audiobooks a tremendous amount. I don’t know about you, but for me there is just something amazing about getting things done and reading (listening to) a book as the same time!
So, here is the list of things I have recently accomplished while listening to Audiobooks:
- Laundry is really not so bad when you are listening to a great book!
- Knitting – of course, this has been a huge help in me getting my Knit Along List whittled down!
- Spinning – again, the best companion to treadling away!
- Walking – this really is fabulous. Getting some exercise in during a half hour or so walk has helped increase my daily step count!
- Gardening – specifically, weeding. Thanks to a good book, the gardens are staying weed free this summer!
- Cooking dinner – unless your other half wants to talk to you while you are cooking…
- Preserving – making pickles and jams is fun, but more fun while listening to a good book!
- Sewing – Inspector Gamache is fabulous while sitting at the Bernina™
- Vacuuming – while it does not make the task entirely fun – it helps tremendously!
- Ironing – again, a most tedious task made better with a good book in your ears!
So tell me, Gentle Reader…Audiobooks – yes? No? What’s in your ears right now?
Great ideas! I forgot about spinning.
I can almost enjoy weeding (or at least not hate it)if I’m listening to a good book. It’s wonderful that we can escape from drudgery with audiobooks!
Excellent list! We knitter/readers think a lot alike. We do love our multitasking. I also should have added “healing” to my list. You reminded me that Inspector Gamache got me through a rough surgery. He was a fabulous companion!
I have never listened to an audiobook. What??? Maybe it’s time…
I am all about multi-tasking so audio books are perfect for me. It looks like all of our lists are very similar this week!
I’ve always wanted to try spinning but haven’t yet.
I’m an audio book newbie — it took a while to get used to it and I’m pretty particular about the narration/narrator — but LOVE them! I listen most when I’m in the car or sewing, and my last long flight was sure more enjoyable than usual!
multitasking at its very finest 🙂 I knew you would say knitting 🙂
Like Vicki, I too am relatively new to the scene…and I like being able to stitch – especially by hand -or knit and listen to a book, mostly fiction. Gotta try Inspector Gamache – I’m not much of a fiction reader. Thx for the suggestion.
Cheers~
All tedious/mundane activities are better with a good book in your ears!
