It was a quiet weekend in my corner of the world. Quiet, hot, and muggy. Relief is in sight however, which is ironically forecast to arrive on Thursday – September 1st.
I think the weather gods are having a good laugh over this. But, really. I am so ready!
We picked volumes from our little garden – we picked some things that were not quite ripe, which turned out to be a very good thing when the deluge of rain hit last night. It was nice (not!) to leave us with a foggy steam bath this morning.
My list seems long today, however, I was up bright and early. Yogurt is at work in the Instant Pot, quick Roasted Raspberry Jam is done and cooling in a jar, and in moments these lovely tomatoes will be on their way to the most delicious jam ever.
I hope your weekend was filled with good things! Here is to lots lines crossing things off my list for this week… how about you?
I think late summer in the garden always makes lots of entries for lists, but it looks like you’ve gotten a delicious start at crossing off. I’m still congratulating myself for making pickles, salsa, zucchini bread, and a giant pot of chard this weekend. Given all the blossoms on the string beans, I’m going to be picking, blanching, and freezing them through September, but hopefully it will be much cooler!
Do you have a recipe for the Roasted Raspberry Jam? It looks delicious!
I picked SO many tomatoes when I got home from vacation yesterday. Too many for us to eat so please tell me more about tomato jam.
Your garden goodie look beautiful! We’ve had an ok beginning to our tomato harvest and the winter squashes look nice. We might have a green bean harvest in a couple of weeks.
I second the motion for sharing the Roasted Raspberry Jam recipe! I’ve never heard of anything like that!
I am drying the tomatoes in the oven to make “sun dried” tomatoes. we have so many!! Mondays are slow for me and I feel like I need to make lots of lists.
Well, it all looks good enough to eat ;-))! Very impressed with your bounty and wishing I had a garden…a gardner I am not. Do enjoy!
