Enjoying: Hot coffee after a summer of sipping it iced! For me it is the perfect transition to fall and one that is very welcome!
Making: The last of the local peaches into jam. I have perfected the recipe of the course of the season. It is so good, especially in homemade Greek yogurt! Also, a big batch of pesto with the last of the basil from the garden.
Eating: So. Many. Tomatoes!
In My Ears: A Fatal Grace – my second Inspector Gamache novel. I have about 4 chapters to go and it is really so good!
Watching: Crimes of Passion while I ride the bike in the morning. I am almost done with the series, so up next Luther will be my companion!
Packing: For a trip to Michigan – Konmari items, gifts, yarn for a couple of pairs of socks and this sweater, and clothes for two seasons – it could be warm, or it could be very cold! Also, my Bialetti, because coffee is ultimately necessary for household happiness.
Loading: My Kindle with a few good vacation reads (and I am taking one actual library book – The Year of Living Danishly)

Planning: The perfect balance of time with family and alone with Steve. However, I am lucky that one small being tips the scale in my direction giving me a double vote on what to do!
Excited: To try our first Airbnb experience as well as a taste of autumn in Northern Michigan and some nice long walks in Leelanau County.
Anticipating: A Happy Hour or two at North Peak, lunch at J&S Hamburg, and ice cream with Genevieve!
The trip sounds wonderful … early fall is such a great time to visit Michigan (just enough chill in the air to be refreshing and the colors and light will be amazing). I bought a Bialetti to leave at Sara’s so I can have a good cup of coffee in her apartment. I’m not sure how a daughter of mine can survive without home brewed coffee, but she does!
It all sounds lovely with much to appreciate currently and look forward to! I read YoLD and had some interesting discussions with my sil who had just returned from her third trip to DK to visit their Danish exchange student and her family. They do a lot of things right. Enjoy the last of the tomatoes and a wonderful trip!
Sounds like a perfect t trip! Enjoy.
I bet you cannot wait for the trip! how exciting, and I love to pack for warm/cool weather, sounds perfect for some light knitted accessories to me. I bet the drive will be pretty as well, the leaves are turning here, and so it will be elsewhere!! On Sunday we are to have a cold front blow through and I am eagerly anticipating the chill!!!
While I can’t say I’m ready for fall I will admit that I have resigned myself to it’s arrival and now I’m thinking of ways to enjoy it. Sounds like you’ve got that covered!
You have planned well and here’s to a very good time and a safe trip!
I love the Leelanau area! Although there are many, MANY beautiful places in Michigan, I think Leelanau is the hands-down winner! XO
Over the years I have accumulated three Bialettis, don’t ask me how. One lives in our mini-mini-motorhome, one lives in my son’s cupboard in Sioux Falls, and one lives in my kitchen (even though I have a Braun espresso maker; one never knows…).
