Knitting progresses on Rob Roy. It is slow going right now, as I have not found a flow to the cables yet – nor have I memorised the symbols! Plus I ran into a bit of a conundrum with the chart on round three but Mary came to the rescue and it has flowed smoothly since.

I love the texture these cowls have!
I ended 2016 with 2 additional projects completed – Project Peace and Singing Beach. And, 2017 has it’s first item in the completion column – my first PussyHat is complete. I will be casting on another to share and I think I am going to give Laura Nelkin’s mods a go!
New book underway – Moonglow A Novel by Michael Chabon.
And, in its first few days the New Year is perking along nicely!
What are you reading and knitting in the New Year?
Joining Ginny and her Yarn Along.
Happy New Year Kat! Nice way to start – new book and new project. Currently knitting socks for a friend (Christmas present…we won’t get together for another 2 weeks at least) and reading “My Kitchen Year” which I have decided I need to purchase (I borrowed on my Kindle). So many of the recipes are ones I want to try…and all pretty easy!
Great job on those cowls Kat…on my agenda:
1. ReNEWal of my daily drawing/art exercise;
2. Many NEW books on tap: first up will be a FIC title, since I aim to read more fiction..
3. Some old and NEW stitching projects also on tap
Cheers~
I’m knitting a hat for Dale in plain boring black. But he saw a prototype at the local yarn shop and requested it – a first! So I’m going with it. As soon as it’s finished I’m casting on a pussyhat.
Good for you in getting TWO projects completed already! Moonglow is next in my queue and I’m really can’t wait to start it.
Will you be coming to D.C. for the Women’s March to wear your Pussy Hat? ::crosses fingers::
You have embraced the New completely, and with beautiful results! I love the textures in your cowls, and am glad you’re off to a winning start in 2017!
You are off to a great start! I love how your Peace Cowl turned out – I’ve ordered yarn to knit one for my niece. and Moonglow is in my queue at the library. Hopefully I’ll get it sometime soon!
I finished my Rob Roy the other night. I never found a flow to those cables, nor did I come close to memorizing the symbols. It was not an intuitive knit, really (and the chart was Messed Up!), but I like the end result. I’m mid-way through Moonglow right now myself. Love it. . .
congrats on a few finishes! I love the peace cowl and the color you used. Quite bright and cheery and full of springtime hope.
