Month One of joy is almost over, so how is my Joy Meter doing? What sparked joy in January?
Well, there were so many things!
The joy started with “virtual cheers” shared with Honore´ (okay, maybe this happened for me before midnight, but I am counting it!)
Joy continued with Mary’s help on this bit of hat knitting.
Joy overflowed in the books I read this month I finished 6 books this month! Best of the bunch: The Nix, The Secret History, Moonglow, and The Cruelest Month.
There was joy in the unity of the Woman’s March on Pittsburgh.
There has been so much joy in daily stitching – I just must add today’s stitches and the first month is done! I am so happy with this new outlet for creativity!
And, there was all kinds of joy inspired by all of you. Joy from your comments – joy from your posts – and most importantly, joy from the community we share!
What brought you joy in January?
It makes me happy that you are looking for, finding, and sharing joy, especially when it appears to be hidden beneath layers of stress and horrifying happenings. And your stitching! I’ve enjoyed it every day, and it really brings me joy seeing it all together in the calendar. Simply beautiful!
I have to admit that I have had a difficult time finding joy this past month, I’m distressed about what is happening to our country and I’m dealing with some personal grief. But, your post has caused me to pause and look for the joy in my life. I’ve enjoyed a few nice dinners with family & friends, I’ve read some great books, and I booked a vacation for May. Your daily stitching is wonderful!
Your stitching looks great! Always important to look for joy each and every day…even more important these days! Glad you have managed to find it.
Joy is where we look for it and I’m so glad you found it this month!
So much lovely stitching! My greatest joy has been time with our tiny person.
Your stitching has brought me so much joy! And all that reading…I’m off to a very slow start this year!
I’m feeling joyful to have made it through the month 😉 The people in my life gave me the greatest joy in January – solidarity, creativity, sharing and inspiring. plus a few little boy hugs and smiles.
Your stitching is just lovely! I’m finding joy in knitting a baby blanket for my June grandchild. Lots of joy coming this summer!
my joy has been seeing the kindness to others in many ways in the simplest of things. My knitting and my quiet life. The snow I watch fall yesterday 🙂
We just need to keep looking for joy — for the good — for the bright spots! Thanks for sharing YOUR joy. XO (And that stitching project is wonderful! I look forward to your Instagram posts each day to see what you’ve added.)
Your embroidery pictures have sparked joy everyday! It’s one of the most fantastically joyful projects I’ve seen. I’m looking forward to February and what you’ve in mind as you continue this joyful journey.
This is one joyous post…love the Collect roundup! Joy for me was indeed the Women’s March -being there – and the world-wide protests; sharing said with my friend Linda; feeling better after the strange respiratory malady; and giving thanks for each day and the people in my daily and virtuallife.
Cheers~
Oohhh, that calendar photo collage is AMAZING!! I am enjoying your progress/process.
