Valentine’s Day Roses are still glorious. Happiness in a vase, my friends!
And, speaking of happiness…Happy Strike4Democracy Day!! I will be contacting my dear MIA Senator Toomey with some messages to vote no on all the things he likes to vote yes on. Perhaps I should be knitting him a scarf? What do you think? Subliminal messages might work! (And, shadow knitting FTW!!)
Can I just say that my favorite part of a sock is the heel? Well, it is! The heels are turned on my Mystery Sock – I am all ready for Clue #3 next week!
On the agenda for this weekend – sweater catch up knitting. Fortunately, Season 3 of Chef’s Table on Netflix is out today so I have my binge-watch all queued up!
Now, how about some links for your edification?
First up – did you read about The Met digitizing its collection of art? Really, the images are amazing. (Warning – this can be a huge time suck! I spent a good bit of time yesterday looking!!)
First up is Heart On My Sleeve – a compilation of sweaters from an incredible slate of designers in both adult and child sizes! And, here is the best part; this project is supporting the Against Malaria Foundation! So, knit something for someone you love and help fight malaria.
Wooly Wormhead’s Circled 4 is awesome (Circled 1-3 are not bad either…) and who does not have any sock yarn in their stash? (Okay, really – I want to know if you do not have sock yarn stash – please tell me in the comments! You might be the lucky recipient of a skein of sock yarn from MY stash!!)
Checks, please! More sock yarn knitting…
Bihan Heol – more sock yarn, but gosh is this cute!
never say never socks – in sock yarn, of course! (and on sale until tomorrow at midnight in Brussels…)
Three Wee Sheep – now really, these would be so darling on a little spring Easter Tree!
Cullen Earflap Hat – for those of you who might be getting weather that actually resembles winter!
My friend, Simone has just released patterns for matching hat and cowl! So, so cute!
And finally, Lou would be lovely knit up in some Sheepspot CVM
That is all I have for today – have a fantastic weekend and I will see you back here on Monday!
P.S. No doctor appointment was set yesterday – procrastination 1, kat 0.
Your socks are stunning! You’ve chosen yarns that coordinate beautifully and they look better and better with each clue. Do you know what the greenish yarn is? I think the gold is Tupelo Honey, but I cant figure out the green. I’ve been thinking about knitting Silverleaf and that yarn would be just perfect.
P.S. I didn’t buy a mattress yesterday, but maybe Sunday? Darn procrastinaton!
Great links. I gifted the little sheep pattern to my daughter and I already have one of the heart on my sleeve sweaters on my needles for our tiny person. Happy Friday!
Good luck with Pat Toomey, I don’t think he deserves a scarf unless it’s out of scratchy itchy unprocessed unwashed wool…..(I’ve got some anger issues…).
Lovely socks!!
I have found it completely impossible to deal with Utah Senators and congressmen. Fools all. Anyway, I hope your weekend is a lovely one!!
I’m working on my closet so I think you can make a phone call to your doctor. You can do this!!
I like the way your socks are looking.
Do not waste any of your valuable knitting time on that tool Toomey!
I have to say, I think that most of my yarn stash is sock yarn …
Enjoy the weekend!
Great links and GREAT socks – I am really enjoying seeing these come together. The colors are just so fab. And, yes, most of my stash is sock yarn for sure. Did you get my e-mail yesterday?
Great progress on the socks! I do have a sock yarn stash, but surprisingly it is shrinking. I have been making an effort to use it and haven’t been buying more.
I have a lot of sock yarn in the stash. I didn’t realize it until I started to sort and plan projects but in the last 5 or 6 years I seem to gravitate to knitting with lighter weight yarns. right now I have fingering weight on needles for a sweater for me and one planned for my daughter. in the last 2 years I have made 4 sock weight blankets. and then there are hats and mittens made of sock yarn. even my spinning is fingering weight.
of course a person can’t have too much chocolate or sock yarn can they?
Love the socks…really too nice to wear under pants or hidden by boots…and the roses are lovely, indeed.
As for the call, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again on Tuesday!
Continue to enjoy the weekend…and yes, the Congress is getting an earful this weekend.
Cheers~
Your socks are going to be stunning! and I’m so impressed you have them both on track for the next clue. great links, too!
Those are beautiful socks! The yarns play together so well!
I have a “little bit” of sock yarn in my stash — if by “little bit” I mean obscenely large collection!
Those socks look great — you chose colors wisely! (Always the biggest gamble in the Mystery Knitting department.) Hope your weekend was wonderful! XO
I always love your Friday links… there are usually a few that I’ve already added to my Favorites, but invariably I discover a few more!!
I am looking forward to S3 of Chef’s Table. My husband has been watching a series on Netflix called Abstract: The Art of Design… my daughter caught a few minutes of it yesterday and said that it’s very similar to Chef’s Table — just art/design instead of food! I haven’t checked it out yet
