Good Morning, Gentle Readers!
How is your weekend going? I hope as wonderfully as it has here!
I am not sure what weather in the upper 60’s in February says about Global Warming, but it sure makes for a glorious weekend!
There was an abundance of walking this weekend in an effort to spend as much time as possible outside! Saturday we walked in our “old standby” out at Boyce Mayview Park – clear blue skies and warm sunshine coupled with a cacophony of birds singing and the distant rat-a-tat-tat of woodpeckers made for a wonderful walk!
Sunday we decided to venture outside our usual walking route and headed to Dormont Park where the walk was invigorating (lots of hills in Pittsburgh means a walk can be a good work out!) And, the views from the park were incredible as you can see above! On our way home, we decided to stop in Carnegie at their park and imagine my surprise in finding a Skate Park there! It was busy and we had fun watching the variety of ages all zipping around on bikes and boards.
Hopefully there will be a bit more time to walk today because this weather surely cannot be here for good – can it? (Although we have forecasts of 60’s all week!)
Have a great Monday everyone!
It was an amazing weather-weekend here, too. Wonderful — but slightly unnerving. It was great to spend so much time outside again!
We were lucky enough to have temps. near 60 here also – a little unsettling yet welcome. Your walks sound like the perfect way to spend a gorgeous weekend. I know Mr. Rogers neighborhood was in Pittsburgh, and that first photo certainly reminds me of it!
Love seeing you walking around in my old neighborhoods!!! (Mt. Lebanon Park was always my destination!!!) Can you believe we’re going to have a week of 70+ degree days? Can’t make any excuse to NOT get out in this gift!!! Enjoy!
Your weather sounds lovely! We have gusting winds, rain, (snow coming) and 60s later in the week. It’s spring, a season that can never make up its mind.
Sounds like a great weekend and terrific forecast ahead, too!
It really was an amazing weekend (though I did mention global warming several times!) and so refreshing to be able to spend time outside. I don’t know if we’re actually going to go back to winter or not; all the plants around my house are sprouting or budding, so they clearly seem to think it’s spring!
my home town looking beautiful! This weekend was amazing with weather, blue skies and much much needed sunshine!! (I hope you made your appointments, I’m keeping you accountable…)
I am green with envy! We have wet, grey, and puddles.
I’m so glad y’all are getting a taste of what early spring is like here… one good thing about the South! (and now you can see why my focus shifts shifts away from knitting wool in February!)
