Hello Unravelers! Happy Wednesday to you all!
I hope your week has brought lots of good reading and even more good crafting!
I am almost done with my book for the NetGalley review, I will give you the CliffsNotes next week. I do have a second NetGalley book to read, and thankfully, this one will go much quicker! And, perhaps even be more interesting!
On the knitting front – I have one project that I am knitting to review some yarn from Kraemer Yarns. This yarn is very unusual for me in that it has some sparkle to it! However, I really like it – it is wool, but it has an amazing cottony, soft feel! I am knitting Settler Shawl – and I love it! It is a great match for this yarn and will be a lovely summery shawl. The yarn is Kraemer’s Sterling Silk & Silver in Estate Green. The yarn is 63% SW Merino, 20% silk, 15% nylon, and 2% silver poly – an interesting mix of materials, but it is so soft and it is knitting up beautifully in this shawl. If you have someone who finds wool scratchy, this yarn might be a solution for them.
On top of this knitting I am plodding along on my Air Soft shawl… I really love this knit. It worries me that a new month is next week, therefore a new technique. However, my knitting basket filled with things that I have to finish – so I really need my summer knit along to begin… yesterday! LOL
And, perhaps at the same time, all necessary work can end so I can just sit and knit all day.
Someday in a perfect world…
What are you reading and making this week?

I love that Estate Green color and will be checking Kraemer Yarns to see if they dye it in something non-sparkly. Although, the sparkle is subtle, so maybe I need some. I haven’t (yet) knit a sparkly Hitchhiker! Your Air Soft is gorgeous, and I hope you find some extra time for knitting and reading this week.
Both shawls are lovely. I’ve stayed away from sparkly yarn in the past, but this one doesn’t shout – if you know what I mean. Very subtle and pretty. Wishing you tons of knitting time.
I’m still working on that damn Peace Cowl (it’s not making me feel very peaceful!) and I’m reading South of Broad which is the perfect post Charleston book.
Ooh, I love the Settler Shawl (new to me)! I’m hoping that May’s new technique is one I’ve already mastered. 🙂
I have to look up those patterns. My knitting piles is becoming a burden these days. Time for a finish or unravel weekend.
beautiful air shawl!!! I have my a sweater, a shawl and a cowl all on the needles and they are entertaining me endlessly 🙂 Happy Wednesday!!
I did not notice the sparkle at first in the new yarn — it’s very subtle! Love the look of your Air Soft shawl, too, and it makes me a little sad that I can’t tolerate mohair. It does have such an amazing halo.
I finished The Underground Railroad on Monday night and started (but only just) Ann Patchett’s Commonwealth last night.
Love the colours and texture of both the shawls, after promising myself I wouldn’t start any new knitting projects until I had completed my list, I gave in today and bought some new wool to knit a cardi for my youngest.
The Settler shawl is lovely and you’ve picked a good yarn for it. I’m reading, knitting, sewing, and being full of busyness. Someday soon I hope to have a perfect day of just knitting and reading!
I get it’s in the name, but your Air Soft shawl looks so pettable.
Settler Shawl is now in my library. 🙂 Happy knitting.
I’m intrigued to find out what you read from NetGalley.
What pretty yarn – in both projects! I can’t wait for your knit along to start, too – need some finishing mojo around here for some long-neglected WIPs!
I am determined to Finish Things at the moment — and I’m not going to tempt myself with anything “new” until I get some of the “old” tied up and out of the way. (Which means I shouldn’t read about your projects. Because then I just want to knit all day!) XO
Loving the colors of your shawl … like you, I’m a bit worried about next week being the new month and new technique — depending on how things go, I might have to sit this month out to catch up!
