Stillwater #1 is progressing, but it is obviously not a “4-day knit” for me, but I am moving in the right direction. I have one more repeat to do before I begin the bottom ribbing.
The rainy weekend we have on tap will enable lots of knitting time, which is a good thing so I can then get on to the sleeves and the front ribbing. This sweater needs to be done before I can cast on Stillwater #2. The Stillwater KAL begins next Friday, you still have swatching time!
I am going to swatch again with one larger size needle to see what that fabric looks like (bonus, if I like it, perhaps I can knit a smaller sized sweater which would help the speed of the knitting, right?)
I also need to work through Clue #2 for TTL MKAL. So, really, I don’t mind the rain at all!
I began listening to Lincoln in the Bardo today – so far, so much good!
There were a few lovely links this week:
I love when patterns have awesome names!
And, when they pair awesome name with multiple sizes (and awesome yarn!)
Quince put together a new collection of shawls. I especially love Beryl and Reiko.
A couple of cute cardigans caught my eye this week: Tanta and Hummelo
Fairy Dust is adorable!
Chest of Bone readers will love this collection. I especially love Larrimer’s Sweater!
Sometimes patterns evolve over time.
Did you love Peace Knitting? Do you miss it? Then you will be happy to see Eunomia! (It began yesterday, but I think you would be okay to begin today! AND, there is a discount code that will work through tonight!)
Finally, who besides me is like, how the heck is it the last weekend in June??? Umm, Summer? Can you slow down?? Please?
Here is to a long, slow summer weekend! Enjoy!
We’re promised thunderstorms today and tomorrow, so I’m also hoping for plenty of knitting time, maybe even on the porch so I can enjoy the lightning show. Fingers crossed that larger needles work for your Stillwater #2 swatch to help with that speed thing! Have a great weekend!
It really would have been the perfect day to stay home at knit (and there’s certainly not much happening at work, so I’m not sure I would have been missed much if I had!). Enjoy the knitting and have a wonderful weekend — I’m still in denial that it’s the last weekend of the month!
Time is speeding by for sure! Love all of those latest shawls by Quince – each one is gorgeous! Good luck with the larger needles – hope that works to speed things up for you. Looks like the sun is trying to get out here, but it is a short day at work for me and I hope to knit/stitch/read some this afternoon.
We’re stuck in summers heat…90s for the weekend and near 100 (again) next week. :/ I had hoped for a knitting weekend, but tis not to be. Enjoy your knitting time!
We had a huge thunderstorm this morning, but alas, I am stuck at work. No knitting for me.
Stillwater sounds like a lovely knit. I am going to see if I have a sweater’s quantity of yarn in the stash. I know I have DK but worsted? Not sure…
Those dang links! I can’t knit all of the things I’ve loved so far. And now??? More projects to ponder!!! I did buy the pattern for Eunomia. See how you are?!?!? 😉
What is today’s cocktail du jour? I’ll be scoping out your blog on Monday for deets!
Your Stillwater is looking beautiful! I was very tempted to cast on when the pattern was released (or join in the KAL when it happens) but I am trying to be a little less impulsive in my cast ons, because I keep neglecting things that I really want to knit. I’ll watch your progress eagerly though and will be excited to hear how you find the sweater when it’s done! I’ve been wondering, looking at it, if there’s a way to increase the width of the front panels a bit as I tend to like a little more coverage from my cardis
Hope the weather accommodates your knitting plans…and cools things down for ya!
Cheers~
Love the new shawl collection’ I’m in Minnesota for a knitting retreat, we had rain on and off the first day and I made me so happy
Vacation time always seems to fly by so I completely concur with your sentiment that summer needs to slow down.
it’s been rain rain rain here this week (and more on tap – haha! – for today) – I’d love to get outside for a walk…but must admit the rain is great for knitting and reading – and keeping our water bill down. I worked clue 2 Thursday and Friday and wow -I’m completely smitten! The 2nd mosaic section might be my favorite thing I’ve knit in a long time!
Rainy days are very useful. I could use some rainy days to organize my art supplies!
I’m doing the TTL KAL, too, but there is no way I’ll be able to keep up. Still, I like the pattern, so it will get done at some point!
Beryl is just lovely. I love all the links. Rainly days get under my skin. I need to embrace them more. ! If it is a hot rainy day, I’m fine. Cold….rain…just makes me sad. I do want summer to slow way down.
We’ve had a busy, busy (fun-busy) weekend . . . with no time for knitting. Oh, well. Maybe this week??? It’s suddenly cold here. Sunny, but cold. (And the clouds look downright fall-ish. Not fair.) XO
