It is sometimes hard to believe that it has only been a year since this nightmare began. Yes, that’s right a year ago today (I know it seems like an eternity!!)
However, this week I began to see a silver lining! In fact, a big old pink sparkly silver lining!
Handknit as it were….
Thing one!
If you don’t take us seriously, we will defeat you!
Thing two!
If you take away our bathrooms, we will defeat you!
Thing three!
And, if you squash diversity, we will defeat you!
This week it really feels like the funk I have been immersed in for the past year has lifted.
PLUS, a bonus link that will make readers happy. (and increase their “to read” list!)
Take that, John Carman! It’s wonderful to see these three things together. I’m finally beginning to feel a sense of relief and a glimmer of hope. Fingers crossed that this continues (and Robert Mueller keeps indicting).
Thank. God.
YES!
Great post!
Celebrate! Wahoo! And it’s cold enough today to wear my pink hat! Thanks for the link to the National Book Award nominees!
Cheers~
Yesterday was the first day in the past year I started to feel a little bit of hope. It was also great to talk with my daughter about what had happened, especially in light of what happened a year ago (we were listening to NPR on the way to school this morning and they were playing clips from the day after the presidential election). She said she remembered coming into the bathroom when I was in the shower that day and I was crying. I don’t remember it, but I wouldn’t doubt it.
Great list of wins! Sometimes the darkest times push us to be the best people. Also what a great list of books, thanks for sharing!
Now THAT is some unraveling I’m very happy to see!! and thank you for the reminder about the NBA – I’m looking for a new book or two to sink my teeth into!
