We got so much done over the weekend despite it missing an hour of time.
We had our requisite visits from campaign canvasser’s – yes, that is plural visits as in 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday (and that does not count the times they have been here during the week!) Truly, I am not sure how many times you have to confirm that YES, you are voting on Tuesday, and YES, you are voting for their candidate!
19 Crimes has finally made its way to our Wine and Spirits stores! I am totally enamored with the animated wine labels! Apparently, I am easily amused, especially when drinking! Ha! (Living Wine Labels App is available for both iOS and Android devices in the App Store)
Keeping with the drinking theme… we discovered Neapolitan Milk Stout. Oh boy. No, really. It is so good! And, the joy that filled my being at finding beer from the Saugatuck Brewing Company in Pittsburgh is off the charts!
But, lest you think all we did was drink all weekend…we worked more on the not-enough-storage issue and ended the weekend on Sunday night with the same amount of storage, but less things to store. Döstädning is our new obsession! Now, we are by no means done – but we made an impressive dent in the clutter!
Daylight Saving Time is back, and while the added light was truly a treat as we wound down the weekend on Sunday night, I must confess though that I was ready to get in bed at the obscenely early time of 7PM last night. Really, I wish I was kidding, but these are the facts.
I hope you are feeling well-rested, have electricity, and are ready to tackle Monday. It’s a big week…March Madness starts! I have lots on my list today so that I can spend some time knitting and watching games later this week! What’s on your list today?
Yep, darn DST – no matter which hour goes forth or back, it always messes up the circadian rhythm. Sleep helps.
I have drank “milk stout” before, sadly no milk at all!
List – get outside, weed some dried out flower beds, clean up the bird feeders, make apple crisp for supper, check deep freeze for some meals, what’s for supper besides dessert! Oh yes, knitting too – parallelogram scarf is neverending!
Back to work today but with one more sunny day in the forecast, I am planning to go to the trail after work. I did some good meal planning and prep which makes this Monday morning a bit less harsh.
I have a love/hate relationship with DST. I love the extra light in the evenings, but I really wish I could get that hour of sleep back — I really needed it this weekend!
Nice job! I love me a good stout especially with some coffee flavor. We’ve got a couple of excellent locals! And my list consists of praying that the storm is so completely raging at 8:00 tomorrow morning that I get to stay home!
I just found out I’ve got a snow day tomorrow so I’ll have knitting and reading on my list!
I had no plans and then fireman offered to drive me to a yarn shop over an hour away. I could NOT say no. He just knew we both needed to GET OUT OF THE house. Cabin fever bad here. I scored a skein of cool sock yarn !! My alma matta Loyola university of Chicago made the Tourny. First time in decades. I did not like my experience at Loyola, but I’ll root for them.
I need to explore Stouts … and I’m still trying to get the last four (I think) of those 19 Crimes corks. drinking is fun! and so is knitting. and NCAA basketball. and looking forward to Spring. Happy (hopefully not-so-sleepy?!) Monday!
My alma mater made the tourney this year . . . Hook ’em Horns! 🙂
Good for y’all on the de-cluttering! I think it’s best to have less to store . . . when it comes right down to it. I’m more of an IPA-gal, but so glad you find the Neopolitan. It’s a good one!
XO
My list today included a trip to the liquor store to look for some new and delicious libations as your suggestions have made me thirsty! I never actually made it there, but maybe tomorrow after I shovel and work on taxes. Those are tasks that should earn me a beer or two!
This time change does my heart good. I have no trouble making the change, We have new patio furniture coming! YAY! Spring is springing up all over my garden. The tiny crocus and my brunnera are coming through the soil. I hope your election goes your way!!
You should work for Warren Buffet: an employee could win millions of dollars for life if s/he has a perfect bracket…or even a cool 100,000 a year…had you heard about that? We don’t watch basketball in this house…but in a few weeks: “Play ball!” will be the call. have fun with the wine corks…I could drink to that game!
Cheers~
Re: multiple canvassers. We had that same phenomenon in the run-up to the special election for state senator in January. There were so many different groups who wanted to help and there was no way to coordinate them all. I just hope no one, or at least not too many people, got so annoyed they voted for the other guy or didn’t vote at all.
