It was one of those weekends that moved at warp speed, and before we knew it Sunday night was upon us with a new week was looming on the horizon.
I did manage to finish my Eavesdrop Sweater…tee-shirt on Friday night! Woo! That means it got a nice wash and a bit of blocking and I wore it on Sunday! I really like it and I love the yarn! Sparrow is lovely yarn to make a garment with. The only thing I have to say at all with even a hint of negativity is that it biases a bit, thus the blocking. The Sparrow washes up beautifully – it is soft and drapey, but not at all clingy and it is perfect for a summer tee! Glamor shots coming later this week, so stay tuned.
When I took pictures on Sunday afternoon, I was just about ready to begin the ribbing and bind off the Beekeeper Cowl – all I have left to do is pick up the button bands on the sides and find some buttons to sew on! It is an easy knit – a very easy pattern which made for some nice mindless knitting over the weekend. There are 2 size options, and I made the larger size. I see more Beekeeper Cowl knitting in my future which will give me a nice jump on some Christmas gift knitting!
And, I managed to swatch and cast on for another Vodka Lemonade…And, yes… the summer theme of “orange knitting” continues!
Lots of time spent outdoors this weekend – despite the crazy heat. I dragged Steve out to the patio to sit under the pergola for happy hour eats on Friday and he survived. No mixed drinks this weekend, but rather a nice cold home-brewed beer really hit the spot and it was the perfect kick off of the weekend.
The forecast this week is summer weather on steroids – hot weather and very little rain. Which means walking early and keeping the garden watered! If you are sharing in the hot weather, here is to working air conditioning and lots of iced tea!
I hope you all had a great weekend and happy Monday everyone!
I went out early this morning to weed, prune, and water; 78 degrees and 88% humidity made for a sweaty time! I love your summer of orange knitting and am looking forward to seeing Eavesdrop.
Sounds like a good weekend, Kat! Can’t wait to see the finished tee – and another orange sweater on the needles 🙂
REALLY hot here today but then it’s going to be more seasonable for the rest of the week. Your weekend sounds great, I love that you had lots of knitting time.
I’m glad to hear your review of Sparrow. I have very, very few summer knits and was just thinking that a light linen top would be great to have.
Why do weekends always go so fast?? That knit looks beautiful (as always).
The weekends sure do fly by sometimes. I like that Beekeeper Cowl!!
I love your summer of orange knitting! Orange is one of my favorite colors these days — and I’m about to begin an orange summer sweater myself (with Sparrow, even). We’ve been suffering through heat and humidity here, too, for a couple of days now. I’ll be happy to see it cool down (maybe even tomorrow???), but mostly I’m happy for my new air conditioner. 🙂
We’ve had a few days of heat, then rain, then cool, then back to the heat. I’d call that a perfect summer (despite the hail that damaged my gardens yesterday). Your summer of orange is perfect for the bright and beautiful days of the season!
Can’t have too much orange in your wardrobe no matter the time of year.
love your summer orange themed knitting! I feel rotten in this humidity and it flares up my RA something fierce. Thank goodness for AC!
