As you can see, I did not get my Beekeeper Cardigan finished and there just might be some more frogging in order. As Mary said in an email to me bright and early this morning: “Purling sleeves in the round is not fun.”
No. No, it is not! Flat knit sleeves may be in the future of this cardigan – I will do a trial run on the right sleeve later this week.
However, the weekend was just glorious. Quiet. Peaceful. Occasionally, being alone is the best thing for the soul. And, Sherman is the most accommodating of companions – quiet most of the time and usually happy to just sleep wherever I am.
There was a bit of drama early Sunday morning when the Cardinal family had a crisis with one of their babies after we had some unbelievably torrential rains. As you can hear, Sherman was most upset also but, it ended well, and the babies were all back to their usual routine of loud demands for their poor parents to feed them… NOW!
Today, though, is all about getting a couple of Geranium’s started for Genevieve!
I hope your Monday is full of successes!
Oh gosh! I really do not like purling (I’m so much slower at it than knitting). Good luck! those will be such pretty Geraniums!!
Can you knit the sleeves inside out?
Your sweater is much (MUCH) further along than mine. Not even close to doing the sleeves, is it possible to knit them inside out? Or, is it time to request the flat sleeve version from Marie?
That pattern is so cute for Genevieve! I can’t wait to see the finished product!!!
I hope that the redo on the sleeves is successful because it is looking great otherwise!
well whew about the birds … and getting your sweater back on track – but my favorite part is that sweet pile of fabric! can’t wait to see dresses!!
Oh man, sorry about the sweater. Glad for the happy ending for the cardinals! One of my favorite things in life is being “home alone.” Geraniums for Genevieve!! You know how much I love that pattern. 😉
The sweater is going to be wonderful WHENEVER it is finished. 🙂
The fabrics for Genevieve’s Geraniums is so cute. You’ll have so much fun sewing those little dresses — which will go a long way in putting the knitting out of your mind. XO
Count me amongst your readers wondering about turning the sleeve inside out.
Could you shorten the sleeves – I who knows nothing about knitting…and I’m with Mary: the fabric for Genevieve’s dress is just cute…looking forward to seeing it and her in it! Glad you got the birds and Sherman settled…
Cheers~
Your cardi is going to be stunning no matter how you make the sleeves!
Glad the little bird story ended well.
This all looks like wonderful success to me and not one iota of failure!
I was going to suggest inside out sleeves, as others suggested. Love the colors of your fabrics and I’m happy to hear all is well with the baby birds!
aw, those birds – adorable!! Glad you found a work around for the sleeves!
