Last week, Mary asked the best question: “What surprising things are you Saying Yes to right now?”
This got me thinking… lots! Because there are some things that I recently have said yes to with great joy!
Thing One:
I am saying yes to a bit of Michelle GD as this year winds down. My first YES was to Gratitude Week, which begins on November 5th…this is such a lovely way to refocus and renew (and this is a free offering – her gift to you!) Last year, I did not take part in her December Just Five Things and this year I am not going to miss out on the insight she shares. And, it is the perfect way to slow down December – focus inwardly, rather than being overtaken by the rush of the season. Registration is open, you might want to say yes to this as well!
Thing Two:
Something that feels a little outside of my “knitting” comfort zone is Kid Silk Haze. Yet, I have managed to acquire a sizeable stash of this stuff. Again, with some inspiration from Mary, I am going to participate in Ambah’s ADVENTurer KAL… yes, using KSH. Mary planted the seeds and I think this might be the perfect thing for December – some slow knitting.
Thing Three:
While I said no to the year-long commitment of choir at church… I did say yes to singing one time in December. Our director has made this a super easy thing to do… the music tracks are online, so I have started practicing already and there will just be ONE rehearsal to attend.
And, there you have my ‘yes’ things! But, what about you? What are you saying yes to right now?
Want to see more things? Head on over to Carole’s!
I recently said a big yes. I joined the Board of Trustees of our synagogue earlier in the year, and the president recently asked me to cochair the board’s social action/social justice committee. I am by nature a shy person who’d rather sit and listen/watch that lead, but I felt that I had to say yes to this request. Surprisingly, I’m excited about it! With all that’s going on in the world, it seems like a concrete way to do some good and make a difference in some lives.
This sounds great – a small thing, a medium thing, and a big thing. I’ve said yes to finishing four FOs before Christmas. It probably doesn’t sound like much, but given my track record for finishing things, it’s big!
I think I’m going to say yes to reading Michelle GD
Good things to say yes to. I think I’m going to say yes to Michelle GD too…
I also said yes to Just Five Things – I found it to be a great way to journal when I did it before. Last night we had an after work employee appreciation event and, while this isn’t something I normally would like, I said yes and I had a blast!
I’m definitely saying yes to Gratitude Week!
Oh yay, Kat – these are great Yes’s!! I’m in for Gratitude Week and the Advent knitting with KSH!
Nice YES things, for sure, Kat! 🙂
I’m saying yes to saying no. I’m limiting my on-line presents which is so hard to do when you have a phone in your hands.
Great things there Kat! I’m saying yes to in-house projects. Nothing too serious but a little bit of something each weekend. Certainly not enough to impact my weekend down time! 🙂
I love your list! Would also love to hear your singing voice and what a neat thing to be able to go online to practice! I also have said YES to Michelle GD’s Nov and Dec events and I’m saying YES to streamlining my daily agenda: I always have more on the menu than my “tummy” can intake…so far, I love the lightness of it all! To be continued!
Cheers~
