We still have a few leaves on the trees and bushes, but most have become a lovely jewel-toned carpet for the ground. And, I think that is beautiful no matter how you look at it!
Last week’s refocus on gratitude has improved my outlook (and my inner-look as well) and my plan is to be mindful of that focus as I move through the holidays!
I hope your Tuesday is full of new optics as you look at the world around you.
I live in a condo and most of the leaves are picked up for us, but yesterday I helped bag leaves so we could mulch them over our garden and till them into the ground. It felt good to get out and do work I normal don’t and talk to our grounds crew. Now we need to ground to thaw a bit so we can get the mulch worked into it.
Thank you for a much-needed reminder to look, see, and re-focus!
Our color was way off this year and with all the rain everyone (still) has a carpet of yucky brown leaves. There has been little opportunity to pick anything up if you work M-F. I’m thankful for your pretty shot! (I made my pumpkin pie cocktail base last night!!!)
I’ll admit I was a little sad to go out for the first time after the rain storm and see so many leaves on the ground; I wanted to enjoy them on the trees for a bit longer!
We have heavy rain today and that should knock down the leaves that are left and then it’s time (for Dale) to rake!
I am trying to cultivate that gratitude. I always think I am grateful but I have to make a more concrete effort to list things. TOday: My husband made the cable man some coffee as he worked out in the cold. I adore my considerate husband. WE are meeting friends for dinner and while I cannot eat high calorie, I can eat a salad and enjoy time with them. Finally, I have a deep love of the early darkness this time of year. If it is ugly out, I’d rather it be dark and starry.
We’ve had quite a bit of snow these last few days, and that has made a total muck of the leaves around here. But . . . even though I think it’s a bit early for snow, I will say that it is just lovely to look at! XO
My Tuesday was awesome. I babysat and instead of coming home and chilling out (doing nothing) I immediately worked on Christmas tags and sewing labels in gifted knits. Doing those tasks made me feel so productive and relaxed.
Love those red, red leaves; they are my favorite although I also love the huge yellow big-leaf maple leaves as well. We are grateful for several days in a row of clear, crisp fall weather!
The view out my office window was so vibrant with color. Today ….. skeleton branches reach up to the sky. Different? Yes. But, beautiful in its own way.
Last week was perfectly timed, wasn’t it? I haven’t ventured out much in the past few days, but I hope there are still some pretty spots of color left!
