Today is all about very good things…right now good things!
Thing One:
Steel Cut Oat season has returned! My favorite is this recipe for Baked Pumpkin Steel Cut Oatmeal.
Thing Two:
Our snowfall of the season has fizzled. Cue the rain (which is still miserable, but at least you don’t have to shovel it!)
Thing Three:
Motrin™ for which my elbow is profoundly grateful!
There you have my somewhat lame list (although, the oats are most noteworthy!!) Want to see more lists (and probably much better ones)?? Head on over to Carole’s!
I could go for some steel cut oatmeal sans pumpkin. Maybe with some apple cider and cranberries? Hmm…now to look for a recipe…
We are getting snow which is supposed to turn into rain this afternoon.
Be careful with the Motrin. Too much of it can cause lasting damage. Ask me how I know. ::rollseyes:: Ugh.
Maybe I’ll try this oatmeal recipe, hmmm. The baked part sounds good and I can already smell it in the kitchen…
Mmm, that oatmeal recipe sounds delicious (though perhaps not as healthy as the plain oatmeal I eat every day).
I’ll echo Karen’s warning to be careful with the Motrin. Don’t take too much, and don’t take it on an empty stomach. I can no longer take any ibuprofen thanks to ill effects from a just slightly higher-than-normal dose (doctor recommended) a number of years ago.
Ouch! Sorry about your elbow!!
We had snow this morning . . . which is now changing to the dreaded “wintery-mix.” Ugh.
So sorry about your elbow . . .
It’s snowing here in MD, so hard, in fact, that we’re postponing our return to NJ until tomorrow. One-three inches were predicted, but there are four on the ground already. So I will be baking pumpkin steel cut oatmeal. Thank you!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm…anything with pumpkin gets my thumbs up!
oh ugh, I’m sorry about your elbow … but glad you’re not shoveling snow – and enjoying a really yummy breakfast! I’ve been meaning to try pumpkin oatmeal (but I’m hoping to find a recipe that doesn’t use the stove 🙂
We’re supposed to get rain, I think, but it could be a tiny bit of snow. And to that I say: NO THANK YOU. I say YES PLEASE to those steel cut oats, though! I make them in my Instant Pot but this recipe sounds great.
We could get up to 10 inches of snow from this storm. Boo hiss!
We are envious of your rain and/or snow! Today we have clear blue skies (the smoke is going another direction) and we might hit 55! Take care of your elbow, friend!
