Welcome to the last Unraveled Wednesday of January and I am so happy that this long-ass month is over! For all the days this month I surely should have accomplished more than I did! I had foolish hopes that my ADVENTurer wrap would be closer to being done and truly, there is no way this will be done for Valentine’s day either.
I am reminding myself here how much I love the fabric and how beautiful it is and, I am ignoring how challenging KSH is to work with. So. Slowly but surely it will be finished. Slowly… and that is okay!
Reading has been varied and most interesting!
I finished Fear: Trump in the Whitehouse by Bob Woodward. Wow, the things people tell this man are astounding! This was my first Woodward book and I had higher hopes regarding his writing. However, writing aside, it was a compelling listen and I gave it 3 stars.
I finished Marilla of Green Gables. I enjoyed this book, but it is very bittersweet – one that did not have the happiest of endings – or at least not the ending I was hoping for! However, the book provides the loveliest slice of life in the mid 1800’s on Prince Edward Island before Anne… I recommend this book and gave it 4-stars.
I also finished Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities. Wow. So, imagine this… a conversation between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan – one where Marco is describing in great detail the many cities he has visited in his travels. One of my favorite lines: “I speak and speak,” Marco says, “but the listener retains only the words he is expecting.” Truer words were never spoken. This book got 4-stars as well.
Current reads: The Widows of Malabar Hill and Lethal White…
But, what about you? What are you reading this week?
As always, if you wrote a post to share, please leave your link! And, thank you for joining us today!
That KSH looks deliciously wonderful and warm, both in the ball and knit in the Adventurer Wrap. And the colors! This knit will be completely worth your time, no matter how long it takes. (And if you tire of it and become frustrated, feel free to send it to me! 🙂
I’m starting to think my ADVENTurer is going to be ready for the holidays in 2019 … I think I could manage 1-2 repeats a month?!
This week is feeling very long. Might be because we have a trip coming up and I really need a vacation!
That KSH looks so inviting I wish I could reach out and touch it! I’ve been reading lots of good books lately, including Improvement and now The Friend.
I’ve not done much knitting lately (beyond the gnomes and the dishcloths. . . ), but I’ve been reading many a good book. Just finished Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss, and digging into An Orchestra of Minorities by Chigozie Obioma. (KSH . . . so beautiful. And such a pain in the ass.)
I think your Adventurer Wrap is going to be lovely, lovingly stitched by you for you!
Still plugging away with the Christmas Stocking from years long gone; good news, the end is definitely in sight…for sure by Dec 2019 ;-)).
I am unable to add my link to the link up…so here’s my post:

Cheers~
Stay warm!
I really liked Lethal White–it’s back to Cormoran and Robin as a duo. I’ve got The Widows on my TBR, I look forward to your thoughts.
Wow – that Adventurer Wrap is going to be so worth the knitting time. I love the colors. I haven’t read Calvino for a long time. He seems like a good author for these winter days.
I think perhaps your yarn is (not so subtly) reminding you to take your time and enjoy the process. Sometimes, as much as I love the finished item, it’s good to slow down and enjoy the journey along the way to get there.
Oh boy, that knitting sure is pretty!!!
your wispy knitting is utterly delightful to look at. I continue to knit my fair isle sweater and will be finishing the body today or tomorrow.
I just finished 2 of Alexander McCalls Smith’s books and Almost French which dragged at parts but was interesting reading about Paris from the perspective of an Australian immigrant. As the daughter of an immigrant I think we sometimes forget that they come in various shapes, sizes, colors, and cultures and our diversity it what makes us unique. At the end of the day we’re still humans-such infallible humans. Thanks for the recommendations and reviews [as always].
