Sometimes there are no words for Monday, but there are plenty of words to read.
I love these little interviews that The Guardian does!
Posthumous James Baldwin makes me want to read all his essays!
Hey, Kym! I think your Bunnies need some friends! (Psst, here are some Ready to Knit Kits)
This is a genius idea, and to start with French.Onion.Soup is brilliant!
Wait, what? Alcohol without the alcohol…
P.S. We had a rough weekend around my house – a grand-dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The tears have flowed heavily and consoling a 3-year-old who loves her Dolly seems impossible. And, my poor daughter has put her grief aside to comfort Genevieve – but it was just Heidi and Dolly for a long, long time.
If you could send some good thoughts (and prayers if you are so inclined) to my daughter today – they would be greatly appreciated.
First of all, prayers to Heidi and Genevieve. So very sorry for your loss. A dog is always in your heart, even if she has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Oh my goodness…so many things to read. I scanned them all, but will have to indulge later, you know, when I’m trying to do all the other things.
There are few things that hurt as much as losing a beloved pet. My condolences to Heidi and Genevieve. I hope my Sugar is making sure that Dolly feels welcome over the Rainbow Bridge!
Sending good thoughts and loving prayers to Heidi and Genevieve. Everyone has to deal with grief in their own way, and when pets and grandparents died, I think it helped me in some ways to help my children. I hope that in time, loving memories of Dolly can take the place of grief.
Thank you for the links and my condolences to your family. Losing a “best friend” is one of the hardest things we ever have to do! Poor Genevieve! 🙁
Losing our fur babies is always difficult. Sending happy thoughts.
Losing a pet is so hard and even though it’s a good life lesson for Genevieve, well, she’s awfully young for this one. Thinking of them and sending love their way. And yours, too.
I am so sorry to hear about Dolly. Sending all the hugs and love to your family, Kat. (And I’m looking away from any friends for my bunnies.) (At this point, anyway.) XOXO
It is so hard to say good bye to a beloved pet. {{{hugs}}} to Heidi and Genevieve.
Aw… thank you for letting us know about Dolly … I’m sure she’s having a grand time in heaven and I hope Heidi and Genevieve feel peace soon. I love the inspiration you found – and shared – for all the other things. I’m getting my knitting queue ready and I traced a sewing pattern. Spring Making begins!
So sorry to hear about Dolly. What a sweet girl and what a wonderful name. I hope that Heidi and Genevieve can find comfort in each other. It really is the hardest thing ever and especially for a child.
sending lots of prayers to your family, it’s never easy to lose a beloved pet 🙁
Hi Kat, So sorry to hear about Dolly’s passing. There’s a wonderful children’s book by Cynthia Rylant called Dog Heaven; it might help your little grand daughter. There’s a cat version also, and every time I miss our Mocha, I reread it and it helps. Hugs to all of you!
just saw this, so sorry to your family for the loss of Dolly – its so hard when they leave us…prayers for comfort
I am sorry to hear about your grand dog. Our animals are such an important part of our lives and losing one brings grief. I am a little late but am sending thoughts and prayers to your daughter and her family.
