I woke up this morning thinking how nice that it was finally Friday and about 30 minutes later I realized it was Thursday. Sigh. I hope those were not the best 30 minutes of my day! Ha!
I am joining with Carole and Friends to share three things from my week thus far!
Thing One:
I went for my annual mammogram last Saturday… a necessary “irritation” I never expect it to “not be fine” but I am almost always called back for additional views. This year the place where I go is only using digital imaging and I did not need to go back for any additional views! Bravo for technology!
Thing Two:
I went to the dreaded DMV yesterday and unbelievably; technology has improved things there as well! I checked in and received a number which was immediately called… I am not kidding you. The thing that took the longest was the machine that immediately printed my new ID – I was in an out in less than 10 minutes! Well done PA for improving what was truly a painful experience.
Thing Three:
AUGUST! At long last July is over! Not that I am rushing summer, but I really needed to turn the page on July! My August calendar is a blank page… and I look forward to filling it with some very good things!
What about you? Did you have some very good things this week?
The triumph of technology plus a new calendar page! I wish NJ would learn something from PA in the DMV department. Ours is still a painful, aggravating place to visit, and very far cry from a 10 minute experience. Tomorrow really is Friday, and I hope your Thursday is a good one!
I had the opposite experience this morning — I woke up convinced it was Wednesday and was overjoyed when I realized it was actually Thursday!
So glad to hear that your mammogram went well. My first experience was more anxiety-provoking that I expected, and I’m sure every year is going to be like that to some extent.
woo-hoo for digital imaging!! I am often called back, too. This year was my first 3D. It’ce nice to celebrate the ‘pros’ of technology. Thanks for that reminder!
Good news on the mammo front! I had the same experience (where I go they’ve been using the 3D imaging for several years and no more call backs) AND results were much faster than in prior years. Glad to hear about the DMV – I need to go in September and have been dreading it. did you go the “real” ID route? And good news: tomorrow IS Friday!
Great news on your mammogram! I am happy to see August…one week until vacation…but it does mean summer is waning. Here’s to the weekend!
Oh those mammograms. Good for you for getting it done. And the DMV, too! Hellooooooo August. Please go slowly.
I hear more and more mammograms are using digital technology! Hurray! And hurray for DMVs everywhere for improving their services! Hope your August is FULL of fun and beautiful things to do.
Hurray for a fast DMV experience! A 10 minute visit is amazing!
Looking forward to a year ago planned trip to BC and lots of sock/scarf knitting!
WOW! Maybe I should move to PA – in/out of the DMV in 10 minutes! Surely you jest! Yes, I’m also glad it’s August ’cause that means Sept is on it’s way and fingers crossed, cooler weather is more the norm than not!
Cheers~
Ten minutes in the DMV must be a record. I had a 3-D mammogram earlier this month and all is well. My previous insurance wouldn’t cover it but Medicare does – so hooray for both! Fresh garden tomatoes and cucumbers top my list this week. I hate to say it out loud but a little rain would give August a great start.
You have got to play the lottery since you are on a winning streak! I go for my mammo at the end of the month and I dread it…. I have never been to the dmv for 10 minutes in my life. Seriously play the lottery 🙂
