Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was one that was full of all the things you needed, and you are ready to tackle a new week!
“One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries.” – A. A. Milne
This weekend included some major Kon-Mari-ing of all the upstairs closets. It was not quite the level of Swedish-Death Cleaning, but the closets are organized, have a bit of space, and the “transition” wardrobe pieces have been moved so they are readily available! Also, if you find something you forgot you had it feels a bit like you got something new!
I even made a list of items my fall-into-winter wardrobe is missing…things I want to make. Our recent trek out to the Outlets really showed me how much I don’t like Ready To Wear. None of it fits well, it almost always needs alterations and/or adjustments to make it fit right, feel right, and look right. So, fall making is now high on my priority list! And, at the top of that list is a pair of good fitting jeans! This fall I plan on sewing a pair of jeans that fit me.
Now, what does the week hold for me?
Well, Reagan lace knitting is at the top of the list, and I am just over halfway – so 7-ish more inches and then the bottom band, but those rows are so.long. just saying…so I expect this lace knitting to continue into next week.
I also need to transform this into reindeer ears and some cabled leggings.
AND…I need to tackle my Zadie jumpsuit muslin so I can work out the pattern kinks.
But, what about you? What’s on your list this week?
I cleaned out my craft and off-season clothing closet along with some general decluttering and took seven full trash bags to Goodwill. It felt so good! Congratulations on your closet cleaning and I wish you a good making week ahead. I can’t wait to see those reindeer accoutrements !
I finished getting the boxes and clutter out of my house – so good! And I cleaned my closet and made a list of things I need for fall. After work today I am forcing myself to go to the mall (I do not like to shop) and see if I can find a few tops. Sewing jeans is impressive.
I managed to drop off two over-stuffed Trader Joe’s bags full of various stuff we were donating. More to do, but it’s a start! I, too, am impressed that you are going to tackle jeans!
We probably need to do some Swedish Death Cleaning, but I expect it will wait until we have a weekend with bad weather and are forced inside — I’m trying to enjoy the sun while I can! I had a busy but not very productive weekend, but those do happen. I’ll catch up eventually.
Looking forward to seeing you tackle jeans!
I cleaned and re-organized my laundry room! Not. Exciting. But oh-so-satisfying. I love to just go stand in there and admire my “new” room now! I wish you much success with your jeans-sewing project. There are so many wonderful patterns and helpful tutorials out there in Sewlandia now. I hope you’ll “show your work” as you go about your jeans-making.
I can’t wait to see that reindeer costume!
I’m impressed that you want to tackle jeans. I buy mine from Stitch Fix and they always fit – I don’t know how they do it but I’m really glad they do! Have fun with your list this week, it’s much better than mine which includes things like payroll and board meetings.
Sounds like you are organized for the week. Hooray. I need to put a hem in a summer dress – now that summer is almost over, and do some housecleaning. My husband and I are trying to find a day to drive to an orchard for apples and I hope some apple cider doughnuts.
Binding of a big shawl for a trip in October and finishing a baby blanket for a shower which will be held while I’m gone! Excellent job on the cleaning out…the weather is just too nice for that here right now!
I’m intrigued with the “sew your own jeans” class – price is very reasonable too. Looking forward to seeing your jeans and the reindeer costume…reminds me of several reindeer stories in my life…the opening photo is lovely!
Have a great week!
that costume is going to be so stinking cute!!
