It is a long weekend in my house and usually long weekends are all about, well… the weekend and extending it one more day.
Today, however, I will spend some time contemplating all those have served (and are serving) so that I can enjoy a long weekend in November.
I hope you are having a good weekend – and are doing some remembering as well!
See you all back here on Wednesday!
It is so important to remember!
Enjoy your extra weekend day and your reflection time!
Wonderful message, Kat. XO
beautiful! I hope your weekend was restive and wonderful 🙂
I remembered as I marched in our parade today and saw so many veterans – the ones marching in front of me as well as the ones lining the parade route. It was good to thank them.
Your Friday post was full of good things and links. Ravelry is indeed a source of inspiration. Thanks to all service people who served and continue to serve our country. My grandfather was a young 17 year old who volunteered to serve in the AEF in France during WW1. He volunteered so his older brother could stay home and help their widowed mother farm. He was mighty thankful to come home safely.
We recognized veterans in church yesterday morning – a few members were even sporting poppies and it was wonderful. I’m glad we have the flag display in my neighborhood because otherwise it feels like I saw more remembrance on Instagram (and blogs) than IRL and that makes me sad.
Yes, good to remember every day of the year.
