Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. — Ralph Waldo Emerson
The Best Part of the Month: Realizing that there was more sunshine than it felt like. January is long, and it felt so sunless and seeing that there were more pockets of sunshine than I remembered brought a smile to my face! Also, to celebrate the gradually lengthening days was something very worthwhile!
Something New: Finding a faith home after struggling and avoiding for far too long.
Best “Oh, Wow” Moment/s: Settling into feeling uncomfortable, unsettled, and out of place…and discovering peace there and all kinds of room for growth!
What I did Well and What I can do Better: I found joy in the small things. I nourished my body with healthy choices (most of the time) and I spent more time meditating. These were all the very best parts of the month. And, those things that I could do better? I need to spend more time stepping outside of my comfort zone and I need to push myself to do that more.
What about you? How was your January?
I always enjoy your monthly wrap-ups/summaries/collages. That polenta looks so good with the roasted veggies and did you make your own pho? Gosh, everything I’m writing is centered around food…I’m starving and it’s only 3:45 p.m.!!
Despite it’s length, it sounds like January was a month filled with growth and learning! And that’s always a good thing. XO
I love the look back at your photos! With gorgeous skies, delicious food, warm weather (really way too warm), and those beautiful hats and Pheasant, January looks pretty good. More time meditating and getting outside of my own comfort zone are things I need to concentrate on in February, too.
January was long, man. But you made the most of it!
I love those self-portraits in your collage (and your Sunday look rocks!). The video reminded me of just how long January was … years! …and I love the journaling prompts! I think a little structure around how we look back is really helpful – that way we can compare/contrast with other months. It looks like you also got outside a LOT last month. and for January, that’s a really good thing!
What a great looking back post. Lots of good things in your world.
I love the sky in your cover picture. And I love your selfies! These are fun posts – thank you for sharing them 🙂
January is always my least favorite month of the year, not least because it seems to last forever. I’m glad to hear it wasn’t so bad for you and that it had its literal and figurative bright spots.
I am focusing on finding joy in the small things and it helps for having a good day. I don’t do well with change unless I am seeking the change. Isn’t that the case??
My January included lots of long walks on the weekends and making plans for the year.
