Is still the weekend, at least for some of us… I find it curious that Steve does not have MLK Day off but he does President’s Day…
Anyway, it was a good weekend, one with tulips for Valentine’s Day and, thanks to Sarah’s Saturday release, a new sock was started (and holy cow, look how much I knit on said sock on a size ONE needle!!) This yarn has been marinating in my stash for more than a decade, but I think it was waiting for these socks! It is perfect!
Today, more sock knitting as I watch something on Netflix that my son, Sam, told me is MUST WATCH TV (which is rare for him, so I am starting today!)
I also made the most delicious pot of soup, which will be most convenient today as I binge a bit! Steve is off to spend the day at the Pittsburgh Auto Show, so I don’t have to “make a new meal” lol
I hope your Monday is full of good things! (and over quickly if you must work!) XO
Your new soup recipe looks so good. I made a rosemary, garlic, white bean soup last night (FAST too!!) and it was delicious. My company is the opposite of Steve’s. I had Martin Luther King Day off, but we are open today. Honestly, I’d rather have today off (MLK day is so soon after the winter holidays…President’s Day spreads it out a bit more I think). Love your new sock – you got a ton done on it!
It sounds like you have a perfect extended weekend — delicious soup made, great sock knitting, and binging on You. I would never have guessed that I would enjoy a show about a serial killer, but it’s delightfully creepy!
Those tulips are beautiful. Enjoy your day today!
I’ve never worked for a company that observed any of these “holidays”!! It’s just another “no-mail day.”
I agree that Mondays are the best when they’re part of a long weekend! Your tulips are so lovely, and they look even better with the all-too-rare sun we’re having today. Also, holy moly, look how much sock you’ve knit! I really love that color and I’m honored that this special yarn is being made into socks I designed.
(FWIW, my office was closed for MLK Day but not today. I’d say my employer has its priorities in the right order!)
mmm soup and netflix and knitting a new sock! What a wonderful combination of happiness. I’ll be checking out the netflix thing, my husband and I are always looking for stuff to watch that we both are interested in.
That bean soup looks wonderful. I don’t cook with fennel much, this might remedy that. What is the sock yarn? I love the color.
Our school district wasn’t closed on Monday so my oldest went to school, but the treatment center where my middle child goes WAS closed – so he stayed home with us! Which is weird, because it’s almost always the reverse. It’s funny when businesses decide to close!
Are you enjoying the Netflix show? It scared me off – it was a little much for me! Your soup sounds delicious and your socks are lovely – what a great weekend!
We also have no holidays between the New Year and Memorial Day…ugh! I like the sock pattern and is timely for me. A friend with a Downs son is likely to pass away this week. Might be just what his wife needs. I haven’t watched Season 2 of You yet but will get there! Enjoy!
Lovely lovely flowers. I love your new blue start. I need to find a white bean chili recipe. In the mood for it since we went to a chili tasting charity event
Soup on the weekend sounds just perfect. I could eat soup everyday but my dear husband gets a little tired of it by the end of winter. I love the sock in the blue frosty yarn. The tulips are beautiful – a little harbinger of Spring and a wonderful Valentine.
what a lovely long weekend! (how did it get to be Thursday already?) those tulips, the pretty socks … all good!!
Of course, the tulips are gorgeous and I LOVE the sock colorway. Am sure you’ve made serious progress since this post too!
