Is time to get real.
It was a quiet St. Paddy’s Day weekend at my house but sadly, the same could not be said about my town!
ST. PATRICK’S DAY POLICE: Pittsburgh Police said they arrested 6 people during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the city and that one Public Works employee was hit by a car. https://t.co/XQUhELPF8l

Because that was necessary? Stop and think people… really, if you can stay home, stay home!
Even if you are young and healthy, stop going out to bars, restaurants, etc
You are the most likely group to carry Covid-19 and infect other people https://t.co/DAgN3OntaW

This article from USAToday was timely….#StayHome should be trending everywhere!
As Coronavirus puts us into uncharted waters, tonight I have joined w 15 health leaders to publish an open letter in @USATODAY with an urgent, lifesaving message:
Everyone who can, #StayHome.
Here’s what it means for you, officials, and health workershttps://t.co/35Dupuji9a

And, late yesterday the CDC finally got their head out of you know where…
The CDC is now recommending all gatherings of 50+ people be postponed for the next *8 weeks.* These recommendations are not made lightly and apply to your daily routines.
But we will get through this togetherhttps://t.co/S5jHhJnLG9 pic.twitter.com/smVdFquNwx

This EXCELLENT WaPo article shows us clearly why strict social distancing is important! FYI, our trajectory has now surpassed the course Italy was on…just saying!
Stay well, stay socially distant, and for heaven’s sake, please stay home!
P.S. One thing you should absolutely do today is search “Italian’s singing on balconies” on YouTube. You will find gems like this. It’s a lovely rabbit hole to spend some time in! (Hint…Be like Italy…STAY HOME!)
Home is the best place to be! I was never a fan of crowds anyways 🙂 Stay safe my friend!!
I was out and about over the weekend getting supplies (alcohol and food), but there were no major crowds, no shortages, etc. And I did go out on a trail to walk Sunday, but again no crowds. I agree home is best. We have a meeting at work today and as of tomorrow we are to work from home.
We also have to remember that not everyone can stay home for the duration. My preschool directors group has been brainstorming ways we can safely care for the children of those who are on the front lines. It is a heart wrenching time.
Staying home is my preferred thing to do; I’m just not thrilled with the reasons why we all have to stay home. I also don’t get why people aren’t thinking about who they might be infecting, even if they aren’t concerned about their own health. I hope everyone stays home and stays healthy!
I’m staying home as much as I can but I do have to go to a department head meeting tomorrow to plan for how long the library and other town services will be closed. I think we need to recognize that for some people staying home is a privilege they just don’t have – but I’m not talking about idiots who were out at bars and restaurants this weekend!
The Italian balcony singers made my weekend!
Stay well, Kat!
Thanks for that link to Italians Singing on Balconies…I needed that!
I had to go out to the dentist to take care of a crown that fell off this morning…thank goodness they are open. They said they have re-scheduled all cleaning visits and are open only for emergencies.
I’m glad I was never one for going out to bars even in non-pandemic times! I am perfectly happy to stay put, though admittedly I think we’re already going a bit stir crazy (well at least the youngest member of the household is). Today went pretty quickly for me because I was working, at least. But we will have to leave the house sometimes, and I worry about us getting sick because of foolish people like the kind that was out this weekend.
I’ve never understood why anyone goes out to bars at night ANYTIME, much less now!! But that’s the introvert in me. Staying home hasn’t been an issue for me! I hope you’re staying well!!
last week it felt like we were over-reacting (and as I posted Friday, I was fine with that) … this week it seems like others are finally catching up with us! (loved Steve’s picture of y’all’s bar … I’m afraid mine isn’t as well stocked 😉
One of our local and very popular Irish pubs got a bit of unwanted attention since they didn’t close for St. Patty’s Day. There could be some serious backlash as Roswell, which is really just a small town, has become known for its restaurants and such. This could easily shut their doors-sheesh.
