Only those with tenacity can march forward in March. — Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
I needed an abundance of tenacity last month, which felt like the longest year of my life. Truly. It lasted forever, but I made it through to the other side and for that I am grateful!
The Best Part of the Month
Hands down it was the ever increasing daylight hours. The month would have been much worse if all this was happening in the dead of winter. And we even had some sunshine in Pittsburgh, which was a very good thing!
Something New
Does “shelter at home” count? Hahaha! (It should since we were doing it for almost half the month!!) Pittsburgh, or rather Allegheny County began sheltering at home on March 17th which also saw the first “quarantini” of the month. And speaking of drinking, there was a significant increase in weekday drinking, but I am not sure if that is really a good thing, lol. AND Sourdough made its appearance!
Best “Oh, Wow” Moment/s
The birds! Forced forsythia in the house! Sourdough starter success!! I also finished a pair of socks (the 13th), and Nightshift (the 24th!) Also… being comfortable in my own *sans makeup* skin enough to memorialize it here!
What I did Well and What I can do Better
I am not sure I did anything well (unless you count drinking, ha!) this month. But one thing I am going to make an effort to do is to **remember to take a daily photo and video** which apparently one consistently forgets when they are on home quarantine!
What about you? Did you have a stand out March Moment? Please share!!
I love Sherman! And I really enjoyed these March pictures. It looks like a month of making lemonade out of lemons, for sure. (Or better yet, a lemon drop martini!) Forced branches are the only things I’ve been able to put in a vase here lately, since my bulbs haven’t opened and I can’t run out for cut flowers. So I’m enjoying them even more than usual! Here’s to April.
I think you did March very well! Such a strange month and April continues that way. I can’t remember the last time I put make up on! But I don’t wear it all the time anyway. And SAH hair? Pretty much mine every single day – pony tails and buns FTW.
Wow! I am impressed by all of your wonderful pics and the video of March. It did zoom by that quickly for me and I can hardly remember what I did that month! Your photos help me remember that there were some enjoyable moments in there after all! Thanks for that! I think you are lovely sans makeup – my Mom used to say we have natural beauty (she didn’t want me wearing makeup as a teenager!) but it is true – you do have natural beauty and the photo proves it! Thanks for this post!!
Your March looks great with a steady progression of spring buds, socks, and Nightshift! It also reminded me of the joy of going to the library. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do that again soon. I’m not sure I had a standout March moment, but it may have been after our stay-at-home order started on the 21st and I decided to make peace with it and stop fighting against it. Sourdough starter, playing Animal Crossing, and even cleaning the house have made it better
This was truly one of the strangest Marches I’ve ever experienced, but it looks like you also took a lot of solace in all the signs of spring it brought. I love seeing all the green shoots and early flowers in your photos and video.
Kat, you did great in March and yes it was a tough month! I’m impressed with all you got done, I tend to get paralyzed under stress at home and yes, my beer consumption increases. This week I am writing down 3-4 things I need to get done each day, nothing big, taking a shower counts, haha. This small list keeps me away from listening to the news and I feel better about myself.
Great pictures
Keep on keeping on!
March 2020 will certainly be one for the memory books! You captured it well, Kat! 🙂
We are definitely upping our cocktail game around here these days!! Hahah!!
I have to admit I have been avoiding going back and looking at March because I know there will be a huge absence of Jackie photos. Your post could be the shove I need to get that done.
I love these posts! You got some amazing shots of birds and buds – I’m in awe!!
I’m a homebody and this shelter at home is a but much. I miss my kids and bookstores and restaurants and hopping in the car 🙂 Soon, very very soon we will slowly get that back and then we can look at this moment of time and go ‘gee’ that was interesting….
I love your videos of the month. I can see Spring creep into your landscape. Great bird photos. I agree that increasing daylight added with a little sunshine was the highlight of March.
oops, I thought I left a comment … trying to get my act together to look back at March – thank you for the encouragement to simply do it. I think your Spring looks awesome, as do the cocktails, the FO’s AND the selfie’s … I need to do that myself. Noted. for April! xoxo.
Stand out moment- I’d have to say it was seeing the families of cardinals playing in our yard. These birds are so beautiful and fun to watch. March does somehow seem so long ago.
