‘Cause a little bit of summer is what the whole year is all about. – John Mayer
Joy of joys, this morning I found the temperature had departed from the 90+ degrees where it had been lingering far too long. A little bit of 90+ days go a long way, right? The weather person says that I will get a few days of reprieve before those hot days come roaring back. My plan for this welcome relief…knit.like.the.wind!
I finished Clue 5 last night, and I am having a bit of panic because I am not quite sure I will have enough of the darker yarn…sigh. If that is the case, then I will just figure out some work-around bind off.
I also have been watching the US COVID-19 numbers in horror. I listened to this timely Life Kit episode this morning. I added “make more masks” to my weekly list.
Random things from my Gratitude list last week:
- Rain
- More rain
- Ripening tomatoes
- All.the.beans!
- AC
That is all I have for this slow starting Monday. How about you? What things were you grateful for last week?
P.S. Apparently, my brain was totally fried from the heat last week. I spent lots of time working on this post, which I then did not publish. What? LOL So, you get a bonus post today… from Friday, published late. But, better late than never, yes?
Happy Monday, glad you are almost finished with the mystery shawl, looks great! It is hot, hot here! We are heading to higher cooler ground today.
Two posts are better than one! We’ve still got 90 degrees+ predicted for this week, but we’ve also got AC in MD, so that is on my gratitude list also. Come on, tomatoes!
I am so grateful for this break in the heat. I went for my run first thing yesterday, when it was about 65, and it was so refreshing! And it was so much easier than my previous two runs, which really goes to show how much harder it is to breathe when the heat is that high. I’m thankful for the rain as well, though perhaps we didn’t need it in quite the intensity we got it!
Still warm here (though decidedly better this a.m.). OUr tomatoes are not yet ripening, but growing fast. Beans are going to be ready to pick soon!! Love your shawl Kat – I hope you have enough yarn!!
I loved finishing my book in the cool air this morning! I’m with you on that heat break—hope you enjoy every minute of it, Kat!
Still very humid here, I’m ready to escape to Maine! I wonder if you could do a high contrast bind off on your shawl to give it a real POP of color?
I’m grateful for a/c after a month without it working properly/at all. A local store that can get us a new fridge after only one week without instead of the month all the chains quoted us. A video chat with friends spanning 7 time zones. Fresh basil from the garden.
I am oh so grateful for A/C and a new dishwasher. God bless a working dishwasher. Basil and cucumber in the garden are high on my list. The pandemic numbers are frightening. We have experienced an uptick in cases. Making masks is also on my list. I think we will need them for a long time to come.
we had a most-welcome respite from the hot humidity on Saturday and it was glorious. this week … it is summer in Georgia. sigh. ceiling fans have made many of morning gratitude lists lately. in the past couple of days, it’s also been $5 rosé from TJ’s, hearing the birds, and finishing things. Here’s to a new week!
We’ve also had some brief cool spells – I’ll take it! I love your gratitude list – I think I’ll add blackberries straight off the vine, chasing toads, and mud puddles. (But I still can’t wait until the fall weather arrives!)
