It’s been a week, again. A world on fire… literally.
So to maintain some semblance of sanity, I have avoided the internet…which means, I “found” nothing this week to share with you.
But… I reached Dreamy Sleeve Island! Which means nine million stitches were successfully picked up and bound off! The finish line is calling and I want to wear this cloud!! I mean this blasted heat and humidity has to end sometime, right?
But today is also for remembering…
βEven the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.β β Barack Obama
May your day include some remembering as well.
Have a good weekend all!
I love sleeve island π the news just gets worse doesn’t it. I have a huge rant in my head but I’ll keep it to myself…no sense spewing.
A week without the internet sounds like a very good idea, and I’m tempted to give it a try next week (maybe with the exception of CO fire updates). May your visit to sleeve island be dreamy, relaxing, and enjoyable. You don’t even have to craft any fish bait on this island!
Thank you for that quote from a man I miss immensely.
I think you are wise to stay away from the news. It’s really not been good, and I think you’ll be much happier focusing on that lovely sleeve. Enjoy your stay on Sleeve Island!
Those yarns are seriously beautiful.
Your knitting pictures are always so gorgeous. Sink into sleeve island and that beautiful yarn!!
I’ve always tried to avoid the news. Everything gets uglier by the day and I’m looking for quiet pockets. Thank you for writing your blog! And for that Barack Obama quote. Good people still exist!
I stopped reading the news a while ago. People tell me things, that is how I get the news that I ‘need’ to know like restrictions and the like. Sleeve island sounds like a much better place to be than watching and reading the news.
once again your knitting just stands out and says WOW. You certainly read a lot too!! Congrats. Two wonderful hobbies.
Beautiful sweater and yarns, not such a beautiful week. Stay safe.
Finally catching up … so appreciated your August Lookback (is it just me, or does August already feel like “months ago”?) and seeing Vivi’s chicken/egg and all those gorgeous skies. wow! Congratulations on your 2nd coverall … and kicking off a great “new” season of books and reading. Hope sleeve island is proving a kind place, and you’ve found something delightful to listen to while you’re there. Hugs!
Why is it that sleeves seem to take so long? But your sweater is going to be gorgeous — totally worth all that sleeve knitting.
Wise decision, Kat.
And I love the fuzzy-goldenness of your sweater.
Enjoy your stay on Sleeve Island although it may be short-lived. Sometimes the news is just too overwhelming. Taking a break is always a good idea.
