is all about the memories of sunsets and long walks, of the thrill of seeing a kettle of Turkey Vultures floating on the high winds, unexpected artwork, some history, a houseboat community (What?? I might have new summer goals!!), so.much.good.food! and icons (RBG and Cat Bordhi) too soon gone.
And the 1 minute 20 second video mash up of an amazing (yet distanced weekend)
And while I’d love to while away the day lost in weekend thoughts…a mountain of laundry is screaming at me. But fortunately it is a task that allows for contemplative thinking, so maybe I can stay immersed in my weekend thoughts a bit longer while being productive! I hope your day allows for some of the same!
See you all back here on Wednesday!
Such a wonderful, memorable weekend, complete with good company, stunning sunsets, and good food and drink! Thanks for sharing it with us, Kat, and showing that it is possible to get away and still stay distanced. I hope you can sustain the weekend vibes while conquering Mount Laundry.
oooh, I recognized that lake right away! Funny, I went to sleep last night thinking, Shoot! I forgot to tell Kat about The Cork 1794 and wineries heading toward the NY border! But not to worry–it looks like your trip was wildly delightful. Thrilled to see these pics. Happy Monday settling back in.
I was going to email you this morning because I hadn’t heard from you in several days and wanted to make sure everything was okay, so I’m relieved to hear that you and Steve were able to get some time away. I hope it was restorative. Good luck with that laundry!
Lovely photos of a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing!
That sure looks like a lovely time Kat! Love the picture of you and Steve. The water looks so cold!!!
That looks like a really relaxing weekend away, good for you and Steve!
I’m so glad you had such a wonderful break! 🙂
What a beautiful place to spend a weekend. Lovely photos.
I’m in the other Presque Isle (in Maine)!
I’m so glad you got away. for a WEEKEND! I could listen to the soundtrack of that video for hours … waves in… waves out … peace….
I’m glad you were able to soak up some energy this weekend!! What a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather. That mexican food is making my stomach growl – it looks amazing!
Absolutely wonderful – I’ll get it was just what you needed. Beautiful pictures…welcome home.
I hope that mountain of laundry is behind you by now. But what a wonderful video and getaway for you. There is something about the sound of water and wave.
Thank you for a photo of the beach! I’ve been missing it so very much 🙂
Many many thanks for sharing your weekend getaway; I loved the video. I seriously doubt that I’ll get any closer to water and the beach.
Cheers~
A kettle of turkey vultures! Never heard that before, but you can bet I will remember it. Query: is that a flock of loons on the water at 0:51 in your video? We have a pair that returns to our lake every summer, and some years they have chicks, but I have NEVER seen a flock like that.
No, they are Cormorants. I think Lake Erie is too south for loons! But I wish I had seen some!
