Hi!
I know, I said I was not going to be back until tomorrow, but what can I say. Ha!
Do you ever feel in a rut? Well, I can tell you we sure do! Steve and I have been talking about how we are always doing/eating/listening to the same.things.every.week.
So this week, we changed things up a bit!
Happy hour was Thursday night, sans music, just quiet, some *different* food, and conversation.
Friday we did not have a happy hour, but rather we got take out (Pierogi Pie and beer FTW!) and we caught up on the Big Brother episodes we missed during the week. In hindsight, we probably would have been okay to eat there… it was a gorgeous day and we could have easily sat outside. It was surprisingly not busy, but of course, if we went with the idea of eating there it would have been packed, right? lol
Saturday, we tried to have an “impromptu” micro-happy hour out on the porch, as you can see above. However, we had to bail and head indoors because the mosquitos almost ate us alive! Which is very curious to me, especially since we have had virtually NO RAIN, as you can see from a tweet our local news station shared yesterday…
WEATHER: Today will be the fourteenth day in a row with no rain for our area. Find out when some much-needed rain could be on the way with the latest forecast from meteorologist @MaryOursWx! https://t.co/Qd85YxRkXD

Sunday morning Steve ran to Dunkin’ and brought home a pumpkin donut or two… oh man, are they so good!
The rest of the day was filled with Steve watching Steeler football while I finished the second sock for Winston! And they will be off in the mail today! Hopefully they will fit for at least a minute, lol.
And before we knew it, poof! the weekend was over and now we are looking Monday in the face. I have a substantial list of things to accomplish today, but I have a bright spot for this Monday morning… Pádraig Ó Tuama is back with a new season of Poetry Unbound!
I hope your Monday full of all kinds of good things!
I am firmly entrenched in a rut and, like you, try to change things just a bit so I can at least peek over the edge of the rut. Pierogi pie would definitely help, but as I’m a bit too far from Pittsburgh, listening to Poetry Unbound will be wonderful. Those are the cutest baby socks ever!
It’s so easy to get into a rut . . . even in the most normal of times. These days? Ruts everywhere! Good for you and Steve to break your way free. And is there anything cuter than tiny socks????
Oh those tiny socks! Love them. (great color too)
Yup, I think we are all feeling ruttish (is that a word??) these days. Changing it up a bit helps for sure. We did get some rain this weekend (finally) – nothing too hard, but enough to spoil our plans for an outdoor (walking/dining) day on Saturday.
It’s hard to break out of a rut when there aren’t many options to do something different, and I’m really sorry the mosquitoes drove you inside because the weather has been so nice! I hope you’re able to continue changing things up this week.
Rut city over here, too. I just said it to Dale yesterday morning, in fact. I need some new Friday Night Snack ideas!
It’s almost as if you were here for my weekend conversation! I was just saying how significantly different it is for me to LISTEN to a poem than it is to READ one silently to myself. Then, poof! You introduced me to Unbound. Wow. And thank you.
Okay, I am jealous because you can listen to all of season one! He is simply magnificent and I must give Mary credit for introducing me to him!
I adore thos thick socks. THey are Winter Wisconsin Worthy! Yarn please?
Kathy, I think it is Hand Maiden Casbah.
Your Thursday night snacks look delicious. I am off to listen to Poetry Unbound. I sort of forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.
adorable socks for an adorable boy 🙂
Good for y’all to (try to) break out of your rut! Happy hours and take-out, pumpkin donuts, and baby socks … it all looks wonderful to me! (p.s. I think we’ve had all your rain…)
RUT! I even made a reservation at a restaurant an hour away for outside dining and then RUT decided to stay home. Dan is coming Friday so that will shake things up a bit for the weekend. (9 months since our last visit…and I know you understand!)
