“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”
―
This week hope began to leap forward in a most glorious manner! My little snowdrops have come up and while their little flowers are not open, these hardy little flowers are the most pleasant bits of green in a very brown garden! Mine look very similar to the image above. No open blooms yet…they are waiting for a warmer day! (Which might happen here next week… 70’s are in the forecast!!)
And how about the hope that the COVID-19 vaccines are giving? When I listened to President Biden on Tuesday, I burst into tears at his news. Tears of hope. Tears of joy. In that moment I thought of all of us who have been unable to physically see our families during this pandemic… it has been so hard and seeing that light growing so much brighter at the end of this very long tunnel was exactly what I needed.
Finally, I leave you with this… since winter solstice way back on December 21 we have gained almost 2 hours and 14 minutes of daylight. (at least here in Pittsburgh!)
Have a good weekend all… it is Get the Taxes Done Weekend here. Wish me luck, lol! See you all back here on Monday!

I love your hope series 🙂 I think things are looking up and I feel so much better believing it. I hope to get a walk in today and see if our snowdrops are blooming!!
I keep looking for my snowdrops but they’re still under piles of snow. Hopefully soon! I’ve been working on taxes this week, and I’ve just got two more state returns (DE and NJ) to go before I’m done. So far things are looking okay and I wish you all the good tax luck!
Best of luck with the tax situation! We started using a CPA when Fletch started his own business and I’ve never done them since!! Best thing ever. No snowdrops here yet – like Bonny, ours are under snow cover. But next week looks promising. Still brutally windy and cold here this a.m.!
Starting our taxes this weekend, too. (Yippee. . . ) (Not.) Still no spring bulb sightings here, but maybe soon???? I can hope.
Ooof, exciting weekend plans you have there! I hope they are as painless as possible. (We had an accounting firm do ours, and it was so nice to let someone else to them for a change!)
I am very much looking forward to the warmer temps next week!
That’s a lot of LIGHT! And I’ll take any and all we can get. {May it shine on your taxes 🙂 } Happy week-ending to you.
Light at the end of the tunnel is what we all need. I see a few green shoots poking out of the ground. I think they are the tips of iris – what? Although there are a few small piles of snow left, most of it has melted. Spring and hope are on the way. Best of luck with those taxes.
I have crocus and lots of daffodil shoots, if the wind isn’t too harsh today maybe I’ll go look for snow drops (I know a spot where they bloom). Here’s something else filling me with hope: Dale had his first shot last Saturday and I just scored appointments for Hannah to get hers! I’m still not eligible in MA but I’m so glad the ones I love are able to get their shots.
