I have no idea who “Maxine” is, but boy this quote was my weekend! LOL (and who am I??)
I have been diligently working through the #cleaningarmy Spring Cleaning Challenge List (A huge thanks to Kym for sending me their way!) and I worked away on the kitchen over the weekend, ugh. But boy is it sparkly this morning! Today I have arrived at the dreaded bathroom/bedroom portion of the task list. I am wondering how I ever really did this without a list… I was a haphazard spring cleaner at best!
A weekend of cleaning was not what I really wanted to do, but I was on a roll.
I did manage a bit of spinning though! Saturday afternoon I virtually-spun with Jane, Sarah, Eileen, and Eileen’s sister and finished up some lingering singles on my wheel and I did some plying on Sunday! (If you’d like to join us, you are welcome! The more the merrier!) I need to give these beauties a bit of a soak to see how the twist evens out, but I am happy with my results on this!
My treat for finishing the bathroom/bedroom will be to ply up those reddish singles so I can get started on the fiber they complement!
Happy Monday All!
Congratulations on some awful jobs done well! I think your spinning is lovely and you definitely deserve to reward yourself after all that cleaning! (I think Maxine might be that feisty older lady that is on Hallmark cards. My SiL has sent me several, but none with this quote)
I’m on vacation after Thursday and I’ll be tackling some spring cleaning then!
My spring cleaning has been very specific… and slow. I was going to clean & organize the spice cupboard yesterday — set up a table & everything to put things on — and it just did not happen. There sure is a lot going on.
I clean very little these days and can’t seem to get motivated to do more…not sure if that’s a good thing or not – LOL
So my eyes jumped ahead a little and, for a split second, I read ‘lingering ‘ as ‘lingerie,’ and I thought to myself, now THAT’S going to be quite a spin!
On a different note, enjoy the fruits of your labor. I love raising a glass to a freshly cleaned house! Feels so good. (It’s not happening here…in fact, we’re going into wintry weather this week…blech…so I’ll raise a glass to YOU!)
Isn’t it the best feeling ever when you give a space a good, hard clean and it’s spotless for a brief moment? It never lasts very long, but I always enjoy that moment. (I always joke with my husband that nothing gets his bowels moving better than a freshly scrubbed toilet!)
We’ve been doing the spring cleaning a little at a time here. This weekend’s main task was sorting out the clothes that we no longer want or that no longer fit and putting them aside for donation. We have quite the pile!
Your hand spun is LOVELY! Spring cleaning I love it and hate it. Hate the work-love the sparkling results!!!
I wish I would have jumped on board the spring cleaning wagon… but I’m getting an opportunity to declutter with all of this work on the house we’re doing. I’m glad your kitchen felt so sparkly yesterday morning!
Your virtual spinning party sounds so lovely – I’m glad you get to join in on the fun!
ooohhh, that handspun is gorgeous! I’m so glad y’all have found a way to cheer each other on… with spectacular results!
What pretty handspun Kat. The gray looks so soft. I always say that I like a clean room when I am finished cleaning. I’m cleaning out the herb garden and the perennial flower bed. Does that count for Spring cleaning?
come clean my house, lol. That handspun wool is gorgeous and you have such great talent!!
