Brings an adjusted To-do List…
I stumbled across this quote over the weekend and have not stopped thinking about it.
Sometimes our stop-doing list needs to be bigger than our to-do list.
― Four-Word Self-Help: Simple Wisdom for Complex Lives
Yes, it absolutely does!
This weekend I really needed to focus on sewing but instead I did lots of procrasti-knitting, procrasti-painting, and procrasti-reading.
So here it is Monday morning and I still have sewing to do. Although I do have the sweetest completed Autumn Gnome, I’d really like to have a pair of completed tunics and a new pair of pants!
So I created a very short and sweet Stop-Doing List… it has one thing on it… stop procrastinating.
Now, I am not sure that putting something on a “stop-doing list” is somehow magic and you just stop doing it. Ha! I know that is not true at all, but I am hoping that by identifying my procrastination tactics… I will curb those moments to a more manageable amount of procrastination!
My To-Do List remains the same!
I hope your Monday is full of good things… and no procrastination!
See you all back here on Wednesday!
Oh! I cannot wait to see your tunics and pants Kat!! You may just inspire me to sew again. Here’s to a smooth Monday with NO procrastination!!
I am such a procrati-anythinger. . . I wonder what it is that is keeping you from sitting down to sew??? I do hope you get to your pants and tunics today, Kat! 🙂
A stop doing list sounds great to me! Maybe you also need to consider WHY you didn’t want to sew and chose to do those other things instead.
I like the idea of a stop-doing list! (Mine would also say “stop procrastinating” in big bold letters!)
The timing of your shared quote is perfect as I was just making out my Monday to-do list. I love the idea of a stop-doing list.
my sister had a craft show that I helped her with and that completely interrupted my ‘me’ time. Socializing is so good for me and I love to do it but then I’m sad that I’m not knitting or reading!!
For some reason, the things I procrastinate about doing always seem to be things that really do not take too much time and aren’t very difficult — and yet I keep putting them off! I wonder if someone has ever studied that phenomenon? In any case, I hope you can conquer your procrastination as well as your to-do list today!
Here’s to a Monday with less procrastinating. Boy am I good at that too. Happy sewing.
Or Never do today that which can be left till Tomorrow!
Followed by Tomorrow never comes!
Caught up! I love that quote and have followed/shared similar sentiment with friends who are often overwhelmed by their always growing To-Do Lists… move some of those things over to the DON’T DO (at least for today) LIST! I also LOVE that funnel-neck sweatshirt, that gorgeous yoked sweater, and ALL of your gnomes! I didn’t knit the most recent (but I did buy the pattern).
