Greetings Unravelers from the midway point of our Erie trek!
I would like to think that I am making and reading up a storm but realistically that is not likely happening… or if it is, it is in very small doses. I have brought my Pressed Flower socks for company… as well as some wound skeins of Koigu KPPPM ready to be cast on… lol.
Steve is NOT a reader and he hates that I read on vacation so my reading time is limited to at night when I get into bed.
I am hoping that you all are making up for the void of making and reading in this post… please tell me what you are excited about this week! I will be back next week and will be delighted to catch up on what you all are up to!
As always, please share your post below and I will be back next week to tell you all about my trip!
Thanks for writing this ahead of time and giving us a place to Unravel, Kat! I hope you’re having a wonderful time (and maybe also doing a little bit of reading and knitting). I’m excited that I’m past halfway with my Woolly Waffle shawl, but I’m not looking forward to the i-cord bind off at the end. Maybe that will be my one new thing in (hopefully) November!
I hope you are having a wonderful time and are feeling relaxed and restored by your time away! I also do not have a reading partner, but mine is happy to noodle around on the computer or tablet while I read. I think Steve needs to find a hobby — maybe he should learn to knit!
It is all socks all the time for me this week, but I should have at least one pair finished by the end of it. I am getting the itch to get back to a sweater I started earlier this year and to start a new spinning project!
This made me laugh — because I’m always telling Troy he should take up knitting. He travels so much…imagine what he could accomplish on flights, waiting at gates, in a quiet hotel room before bed?!
My husband couldn’t stand me reading a book whilst he was around either, but it was ok for him to read stuff on his computer. I never understood that. However I’m glad you are having a great holiday- maybe do what chaps seem to love doing- sneak the book to the bathroom!
I hope you’re having a wonderful week there, Kat. I wonder if Steve has any portable hobbies? That’s often a challenge for men, it seems. A friend (who’s a career coach) told me she learned that we’re advised to have 7(!) hobbies when we retire. I thought about that–b/c it sounds like a lot at first. But when you take into account seasons…moods…different kinds of spaces…etc….I can see it. (And I imagine that number accounts for attrition.) Makes for fun conversation, anyway!
I hope you’re having a wonderful and restorative week, Kat! Can’t wait to hear all about your adventure. XO
Sitting by that lake looks like such a restful spot. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
I hope you are having tons of fun! I am almost done with my granddaughter’s sweater!!
I hope you’re having a wonderful vacation! I am knitting a sock and reading Wellness and both are going well!
I’ll echo everyone’s sentiment. I hope you are enjoying your vacation and will feel renewed and rested when you return home. I just read a wonderful piece from Walking in Wonder about being part of and finding one’s spirit in the landscape. I wish that peace for you. I mended a quilt and continue to work on the LYS KAL.
