Hello everyone… I hope your Monday is starting easy!
Mine started with a bit of an explanation point! Yes, just after midnight, I was awoken by the sound of an explosion of hail stones being hurled at the house. It was so loud and the winds were so wild!
That exclamation point was soon followed by more flood warnings as some areas near us were evacuated. April sure as heck has been rainy and we added another almost 3 inches to those totals last night! All this rain has upset my “sweater washing” apple cart… that task might have to move to May!
But… I do have a tulip or four to share with you!
I have never, ever seen such short-stemmed tulips, but I guess in their Tulip Minds, they thought that with the lack of leaves to protect their blossoms, closer to ground might be better…But they BLOOMED!
Tomorrow is a big day for me… and I am more than a bit nervous about it. I go to meet with the audiologist to figure out hearing aids. So if you could send me all your calming juju, I’d be so grateful!
Happy Monday everyone! See you all back here on Wednesday with something FUN!
Best of luck with your audiologist visit…I will be going once I am back from NC. My friend Leslie now has two hearing aids…and you never even see them!! Your tulips are lovely even if they are short. We’ve had that happen once or twice – no explaining it. Last night our power suddenly went off around 9 p.m. Luckily it came right back on after a couple of minutes and then the rains started. Nothing like you had, but unexpected. Hoping the week is a calm one for you.
Your tulips are short and sweet! Maybe the squirrels and deer won’t notice them if they are close to the ground. I’m sending all the good juju for your audiologist visit. That is on my list this year. John has hearing aids but never wears them because he says they are not comfortable. So my advice is to get ones that you will wear!
P.S. I have never heard the word jaggerbush but it’s certainly descriptive!
Maybe all that rain has stunted their growth? They are lovely, all the same. As for hearing aids . . . they changed my life. Fear not!
You will be just fine at your appointment – but sending calm thoughts your way!
You’ll do just fine. You got this!
The tulips are beautiful. I’m thinking of planting some bulbs next fall.
Funny, I know we got some rain overnight because it was wet when I went out this morning, but I heard nothing! So the hail didn’t reach us, and I’m not sure we even had thunderstorms on our side of the river!
Best of luck tomorrow! There is nothing to be nervous about, if you ask me: They’re going to get you all fixed up!
Sending you all of the good juju! Your appointment with the audiologist will be FINE!!! <3
I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow! I know three people doing the same right now—big, positive steps!
A friend happened to be driving through PGH when they were pummeled with hail—scared the daylights out of them! Glad your tulips were safe and sound.
I think the East Coast is going to need an ark from all the rain. We, on the other hand, have some days with warnings about wildfire because of drought and wind. Hooray for tulips that the squirrels have left alone. I love the pink ones. Best of luck with the audiologist.
I recently got hearing aids. It took a few days to get used to them, but they are fine. Pro tip: clean your ear canal DAILY. I thought one of mine was broken because it only worked intermittently. When I went back to the audiologist she found its filter was completely plugged with earwax(!) Tres embarrassing! One really cool thing about mine, and probably others, is that they connect via Bluetooth to my phone. I can control the volume, the bass/treble balance, and other stuff on my phone. When I answer my phone, the caller’s voice comes into the hearing aids. I listen to audiobooks without headphones/earbuds and not bother Smokey. (Also, consider yourself lucky that there are such things as hearing aids. Imagine the loneliness of being deaf.)
I cannot wait for hearing aids! I am not deaf enough, lol 0 but I drive my husband nuts when I say what all the time. I hope your appointment went smoothly and you are happy!!
