Is for rounding out my “packing list” with some “insurance”…
- A skein of sock yarn and sock needles
- Stitching bits and pieces
- and yes, a warm coat, another hat, and mittens!
I added those last bits yesterday when I saw the much chillier than expected forecast for this week. I don’t think the vest I already had on the list will be enough. I seriously contemplated not bring anything to knit, thinking perhaps that a break might be a good thing. But I don’t know of any yarn stores up near Erie, so in case my knitting mojo comes roaring back I will be prepared!
I have debated with myself a dozen times about bringing stitching or not… and I reminded myself of what happened last spring when I did not take the stitching… so I pulled out a small bag to put some bits in.
Now to unearth a warm hat and some mittens… because you know that by committing to bringing a warm coat, a hat, and mittens I won’t need them! (But if I did not pack them, well… you know how that would go!)
Happy Monday everyone! See you all back here on Wednesday!
This reminds me to start making a packing list. Next week I’m going away with a girlfriend for a few days. Cannot wait!!! I hope you and Steve have a fabulous time in Erie. The knitting and stitching will come in handy I’m betting.
Those all sound like good things to take, even if they’re for insurance. I hate to overpack but I have also learned to be prepared!
I have been quite good at not overpacking but I always make sure I have lots to do!! Better to have too much than not enough. Also when you fly it is really a bother!! I guess that is why I like to drive. I hope you have fun!
I say definitely better to pack the stitching…the mitts…all of it!…and NOT need them. This IS, for sure, our first chilly week. (And you know how ‘in your bones’ lake chill can be.)
I hope it’s a wonderful respite…and ‘rest in the bank’ for when you bring your puppy home!
I was thinking this morning that there was a real fall chill in the air, and I’m now wearing hand-knit socks for the first time this season, so I think planning for even cooler weather in Erie is a good move! I also approve of your packing knitting and stitching supplies. Worst case, you don’t touch them, but it would be so much worse to feel like working on a project and not having anything on hand!
Best to be prepared with knitting and all sorts of weather clothing options!
I think it is best to take a few things to work on – just in case. I agree with Karen. It sure is easier to fit everything in if one is driving. Honestly cool weather that requires a hat and mittens sounds delicious to me.
It never hurts to be prepared! Those small bits don’t take up much room either way 🙂 Yay for the anticipation of your trip!
Always be prepared! And . . . having just spent several days up north, BRING THE WARM STUFF. It was very chilly — and breezy — up there. Lovely fall weather — but definitely on the cold side. Enjoy!
Haha. We’re going north for just a couple of days and I’m already juggling projects in my mind. I am thinking of something other than dishcloths… so there’s that! 😉
