…arrives with lots of weekend “loose ends.” Sigh. The weather impeded the mulch delivery and the clothes line installation. It looks like rain could be happening at any moment this morning so I doubt these things will be coming today.
But the weather did facilitate lots of “making” time!
I finished my Alabama Chanin sampler piece… and learned so much. I bought a “kit” to make a scarf and I am excited to get started on it. One thing I need to plan better than I did in my sampler piece is the start and end of stitches on a piece that has “raw edges” like this scarf will have. I like the look of fully formed stitches at each edge versus what I did as I began learning how to make the stitches. I spent some time over the weekend tidying up those edges. I have another small sample piece which I will practice some stitches with beads. Not a lot of beading, mind you… but I think a few beads here and there would be lovely additions to this project.
I also finished up Gniddy and Gnoddy! (Stay tuned for the big reveal on Wednesday!)
And I managed to add another inch or two on the green vest!
Happy Monday everyone! See you all back here on Wednesday!
Ooh, lovely things to look forward to! I like your sampler and look forward to seeing more stitching and beading, along with gnew gnomes. I haven’t been able to hang out laundry for at least a couple of weeks, but I hope you get mulch and your clothesline soon.
I’m sorry the weather interfered with your plans. It was a good weekend for napping, not so much for outdoor activity. Can’t wait to see the new gnome duo!
Sounds like you made the best of a rainy weekend. Love your stitching Kat – so fun. Looking forward to seeing a bit more (with beading!). Yay for Gnome finishes – can’t wait for the reveal on Wednesday.
I hope the weather clears so you can move forward with your clothesline and mulch!
It’s so challenging when the rains just keep coming and coming. . . I hope the weather clears for you so you can make progress with your outdoor plans!
How fun to practice and doodle with your stitching. I look forward to seeing the scarf as you work on it. Your area has had so – much- rain. It has to be frustrating to get anything done outdoors, never mind the weeds that grow like crazy. Although the weeds here are growing like 60 and we haven’t had that much rain.
