Hello everyone!
I am joining Vera’s Tiny Needle Tuesday’s because… I did a thing. Yes, I bought a set of not one, but FOUR cross stitch kits… and you might be wondering why… Well, my daughter, Heidi, has the perfect spot in her kitchen for them and has been talking about what “might” fit there…so how could I resist?
I started with “Spring” because when I looked at the four different seasons… It seemed the “easiest” to me. Ha! Perhaps I should have started with Winter to entirely take my mind off the hellish temperatures we are experiencing this week!
I have learned that I cannot count and I have unstitched almost as much as I have stitched! How I thought this would be “easy” is almost comical… I am stitching with two threads over two threads.
Because, Vera always shares a bit of what is going on in her backyard… I will too. Recently, we have had a rather “rotund” visitor… a very chubby groundhog has been coming late in the day as the sun is setting to get some water. He is hilarious… he gets a good drink of water and then has a bit of a munch of the amazing “clover” patch that is my backyard! I have tried to snap a photo of him, but his hearing is keen… he hears the door open and he is gone! For something so chubby… he sure is fast!
And there you have my Tiny Needle update… I am hoping that by next week I have the windows finished! Ha!
I will be back tomorrow with some unraveling!

This is lovely, and the set of four is really nice. I always love looking at others’ stitching and I’m glad to see that there’s another TNT participant!
That set looks like fun. Reminds me of The Little House.
I see a chubby groundhog in our backyard every once in a while. They ARE fast!
Kat!!! Welcome to TNT. I love the charts you’ve bought to stitch for Heidi – they are so pretty. BTW, I am always re-learning that I cannot always count – lol. Especially when it is hot and sticky out. And you now have your very own Steve the Beav! I find them so amusing – especially when they do run. I had not seen our Steve for some months, but I spied him the other week. I also usually see Steve in Colin’s yard – I think he lives under the shed.
Your stitching projects are going to be lovely. There is something so nice about the four seasons. Sometimes it is nice to have a different kind of stitching on the go. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a groundhog in our yard just those d ***ed squirrels.
What a charming pattern! It makes me think of a small painted print my parents have done by a Cape Cod artist that shows a tree in four seasons. Watch out for that groundhog! We had one living under our deck at one point and they have some seriously sharp claws!
We have a chubby groundhog that I’ve only seen twice. I had been watching for him and finally was in the right spot to see him out in back.
I will admit to buying embroidery kits and last week ordered more even though I haven’t touched the ones that I bought, hmm, probably last summer.
I was also tempted and bought some watercolor painting supplies as it looks like fun.
Can’t wait to watch your stitching grow.
I am a total sucker for “little house” stitching designs, Kat. I love your 4-seasons project. (I’d be tempted myself, but I’m just a NO with cross stitching . . . although I did it for years . . . ) Love your woodchuck story! (Have you named him?) For years, we had “Dave” the woodchuck in our garden. He was very funny — and like you mentioned, very fast! Providing water in the garden is good for all the “woodland creatures” — not just the birds. Your woodchuck is wise and lucky to spot a friendly watering hole!
omg that is adorable!! I’m cross stitching for the new baby and I’m enjoying it after the very start of it (I guess starting is the hardest part for me).
